i hope someone can help me?

i love the old movies you know the ones that were made back in the day where you never saw bed scenes? or a couple in bed? or well i think you can figure out the rest....lol
well, there is this movie that i have been looking for, for about 3 yrs and i cannot think of the name of it. but i do know it had Claudtte Cobear (i think i spelled her name right) and it was a story of a family who had a boy who spoke kind of funny with a scratchy tone in his voice, and a young girl who was a normal girl.
well this couple they took in i think they were foster children, a boy who had those old metal braces on both legs and he had a very bad attitude and later on in the movie became a eagle scout, and the girl they adopted was i think she had a very low self image of herself and later on in the movie she had dates for this dance.
at the last of the movie during the eagle scout ceremony the young boy with his braces on his legs walks up and gets his medal and claudtte cobear pins the metal on him i think the parents get awards as well.
this movie is awesome and i cannot think of the male actor who plays the dad.
i thought it might have been jimmy stewart, or cary grant, or the dad who played in my 3 sons.
if anyone knows this movie please let me know and i will got to movies unlimted and get it on DVD.

the movie that i have been looking for, for about 3 yrs it's a about a family that adopts 2 children and these 2 children have issues, and they already have 2 of thier own. the young boy that plays the part of thier own son he has a raspy voice, i really wish i can remember the movie but i know i will find it. the part of the dad might be played by Fred MacMurray i think.

If you go click "more" next to search on IMDb then click "complex name search", you can put in actors/actress names and pull up all the movies they appeared in together.
