Sorry you're not doing so great.

Oh, and no worries about the recipe.

Well, it's a peaceful old household at the moment.

Dh has gone to Perth for work for four days. He will be back early Friday morning.

J and X are visiting their grandparents in Dubbo. They won't be back for a fortnight.

I'm glad we've got plenty of pets. It would feel really weird if the house were completely empty.

Talking of pets, I have a car bench seat to clean tonight. Holeproof had an 'accident' on the way back from the boarding kennel. I'm really grateful for our new vacuum which can be used as a carpet cleaner.

Hi Kylie!

So what are you going to do with your quiet time? Cross stitch? Read?

That and some writing and cleaning - the sort that is always easier when there are no distractions.

Been thoroughly enjoying it - went out to dinner Friday night; out to breakfast Saturday morning and spent far too much money on new clothes (but I now won't have to worry about new work clothes for Summer or new underwear); got up late Sunday morning with plans to go to church tonight; and cleaned the upholstery inside both cars and weeded the side garden while doing the washing.

One of the windows on dh's canopy was broken this morning. We think it may have been our neighbour while mowing his lawn, but can't say for sure. They haven't said anything.

Glad you've been enjoying time with dh.

When do the kids get back from Dubbo?

J and X flew in on Wednesday morning. And now we're back in routine. Thursday morning was a bit interesting getting to work on time, I think we'd all gotten a little out of order first morning back.

And YAHOO!!!

J and X finally have places on the school bus.

The first day on the bus went well. X said she's going to get really sick of kids using the wod gay though.

Patrick and Paladin both have kennel cough. Paladin doesn't like medicine. He growled this morning while we were giving it to him.

What's a wod gay?

Poor Paladin and Patrick. I hate seeing animals sick. I couldn't work in a vet's clinic.

I've figured out that if I give the dogs their medicine while they're still in the garage it goes a lot smoother. They can't run to the other side of the yard and ignore me then. The worst they can do is try to hide back in their crates.

Hey Mike, I'm doing really well.

But to bring things up to day...

... J has managed to get himself suspended from school for three days. He pressed a button inside the back of one of the school computers which switched it over from 240V to 120V and let the magic smoke out of it. He also blew the fuse which was attached to all the computers on that row of desks, effectively shutting down half the class for the day.

AND

... X's Xrays came back showing she's constipated, so now she's on medication for three weeks. The doctor really could have just told me that without going into details of how much.

Despite my children, I'm doing really well.

Yikes Kylie!

So what's going to happen about supervision for J?

Poor X!

Alls well that ends well as they say.

J is back in school and X is doing better.

I don't get too stressed about what the kids are up to because they're kids and they're always going to be up to something.

I could use some prayers for some medical tests I'm having this week. I have to have some blood taken to find out why I'm having aches and pains down one side of my body (has been ongoing for months and this is another test after having catscans etc which showed nothing). At this stage even a bad diagnosis would be better than 'I'm sorry, we really don't know what it is' again.

Well, I'm starving this morning. But at least I can go in at 7.30am to have the blood taken. And dh is taking J and X to school, so I can do it without having to worry too much about timeframe.

Well, I hope they can find something there to help you know what's going on.

Are you going to be involved in this year's Community Christmas card exchange?
