Well, it seems just as I was getting comfortable in my new home here in Brisbane someone goes and moves my cyber home around while I'm out.

We've had a busy few days with dh heading down to Sydney by plane on Friday night to pick up my car. Only problem is that when he got there it was to discover that the car wasn't running (happens when darling BILs don't start it as promised for nearly two months ), so instead of being back home Saturday night he got home on Tuesday evening after waiting a couple of days to get a mobile auto electrician to look at it.

Anyway, dh took the computer to Sydney with him, so not only was I abandoned but I was abandoned without internet access.

At least I had dh's car.

And now, finally, I have my vacuum cleaner here in Brisbane (it was supposed to come up much earlier, but as it was stored in my car and that plan didn't work out I haven't had a vacuum for a couple of months).

Kylie (hey, even the hair colour is right, let alone the expression)

Kylie!!!!!!! Hey lady!! I haven't seen you in a long time!! Despite the "woes" how are you doing?

Yes, this is our new home and I'm still getting adjusted to it, but a lot of the stuff is better than the old site.

Hi Kylie! Good to see you again!

This is all new to us. There are so many of us with questions. A lot of us like what we had before, but there's nothing we can do about it. I guess you'll be learning right along with the rest of us.

Whilst I remember, Julie suggested a thread be put up to find out who the other Aussies and Kiwis are around the place. It's in the lounge if you feel up to going along there.

By the way, do you like my smile? <----- Look at the picture that way. LOL. There's not much of a choice of avatars, but I wanted to make a good impression with a smile. LOL.

Hey everyone!

Pammy, I'm doing well!

I've actually used a forum like this before. It's not my preferred style, but I guess it's the people that matter.

Trish, I'll check that out shortly. With only the one computer I'm sharing with J right now as he has a major assignment he's needing the computer to do and is likely to need to do some computer time each evening.

I tried to change my avatar, only to learn that I need at least 15 posts to put my own pic up. Imagine that! Me with only 7 posts!

I sent an email off today to the breeder we've been talking to about getting a puppy. I'm waiting to hear back whether they're OK with us having one of their puppies when they're born in December.

Hi Kylie. I like your siggy.

I'm glad you're going to be getting the pup. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Actually i just re-read my post. The puppy will be ready to come home in December. It will be born in October all going well. First things first, we're just hoping that the two dogs like each other.

I spent the day putting up sensors and a siren. The place we were working on had been prewired, but the gyprockers hadn't pulled half the wires through so dh had to cut holes in the ceiling to find the wires.

I talked with J's teacher today and he's still not doing enough in class, but we are working on it at home, so hopefully with everyone doing what they can to get him motivated we might see some success with this assignment which is due end of term.

Waiting for X today after school I got talking with one of the other Mums and her son is starting dance at the same studio J and X attend soon, but on a Friday whereas J and X go on a Saturday.

Kylie (you have no idea how much this looks like me after a rough day)

Hi Kylie. Does that mean that you're going to have to get J to do even more at home? I know sometimes kids need that.

That's a pain that the gyprockers made life harder for you and dh.

Trish, I've based what I'm getting J to do at home on him achieving absolutely nothing at school in English because he is that slow at it. This is something we struggled with while homeschooling, so it's not news to me, just frustrating.

About the gyprockers, that is a pretty typical thing to have happen. It is very frustrating because it means making an unnecessary mess of the gyprock after it's on and also means that some of the previous work just becomes a form of time wasting because it's not useful unless the wires get pulled, but it is so common that it's almost like 'Not again!' and .

The biggest problem is builders/site foremen who, when this happens, try to say that they weren't told that particular cables (which are always marked and the beams marked where the cables need to be pulled through) were supposed to be pulled and so try to put the cost of fixing the holes in the gyprock onto the tradesperson whose cables weren't pulled through even though those holes would not have been necessary had the gyprockers done their part.

Does that make sense?

Kylie

Thankfully that didn't happen on this site.

I know the feeling. Life just goes from mad to crazy around here and then the cycle repeats itself.

What are you having for dinner tonight?

We're eating leftover bolognese mixture with rice (I'd call it a risotto, but that doesn't sound right).

Nothing exciting. I could have chicken and vegetables, but I'm going to have corn thins with cheese and tomato. Other than that, I haven't decided what else.

Hey Pammy! I'm doing well! How's things for you?

I'm wondering if X will be going to dance tomorrow. She's got a shocking cough.

Trish, the chicken and vegetables sounds like my kind of thing.

I really need to go shopping, just waiting on a couple of invoices to pay. We're even out of potatoes at the moment.

So what's your boss's issue? I think I must have missed that.

I think I've finally got my avatar working *fingers crossed*

That'd be right. I get here, and I can't see Holeproof.

I wasn't in the mood for chicken and veggies tonight. Strange. Just had corn thins, cheese and tomato. Just wanted something really light. I've found that I haven't been able to stomach food as much lately. Don't know what the problem is. It's just strange.

Morning everyone!

I'm off for breakfast with dh while J and X are at ballet. I like that they're getting old enough that I feel we can leave dance to go out together for the time they're there.
