if you are a female do not keep looking at every Christian guy as a potential spouse believe them to be a brother in Christ. Men look at girls as you would a sister because first and foremost she is a daughter of the Living God.

Great point.

It always worked better for me to get to know the person way before asking them out on a date.....however, in answer to the question you asked...NO, it isn't using someone because nobody can use you without your allowing them to.

If two people willingly agree to go on a date then that is not being "used" It's a mutual agreement.

I have to disagree Buckin. If you and your date do not announce your intentions earlier in the relationship, and lets say u'r looking for a marriage partner and she's looking for just another good friend...you're going to get hurt. I really do think it's important to let the other person know where you stand upfront/early.

Btw, I'm talking about the classic - you see some girl in church and you're interested. You like what she's all about and want to get to know her better...so you ask her out. You don't know her nor her feelings regarding relationships, but like her anyway and want to get to know her...WHY can't you just get to know her with a group of people and take your time...then tell her upfront that you're interested in marriage or being her boyfriend???

If on the other hand, you're getting to know her in a group, taking your time, liking her, liking her as a whole, etc...and think you're ready for her. Why wouldn't it be courteous to tell her dad/respected elder/EVEN MOTHER if there are no men in her life... how much you would like to take this to another level? It only creates more respect -in my humble opinion anyway:)
