Btw, I'm talking about the classic - you see some girl in church and you're interested. You like what she's all about and want to get to know her better...so you ask her out. You don't know her nor her feelings regarding relationships, but like her anyway and want to get to know her...WHY can't you just get to know her with a group of people and take your time...then tell her upfront that you're interested in marriage or being her boyfriend??? If on the other hand, you're getting to know her in a group, taking your time, liking her, liking her as a whole, etc...and think you're ready for her. Why wouldn't it be courteous to tell her dad/respected elder/EVEN MOTHER if there are no men in her life... how much you would like to take this to another level? It only creates more respect -in my humble opinion anyway:)
