If one is going to use rape as cause to abort they should be required to file charges...

If most abortions were illegal and rape were an exception, then I agree some sort of proof should be required, but it is a difficult matter. I assume we're not talking about the morning after pill here. I wouldn't ask that rape charges be filed for that.

I would add that if charges were filed, and the man found innocent, no action should be taken against the woman if she already had the abortion. Rape is incredibly difficult to prove and some jurists (even Christian ones) still think that wearing sexy clothes makes the rape justified because the man couldn't help himself.

Perhaps there isn't one.

I suspect though that by forcing women to file rape charges if they wanted an abortion would cause an increase in back-street abortions and self-abortion attempts though.
