When I say Fundie, I do not mean it in a derogative way. It's quicker than typing out fundamentalist. Fundie's are simply people who interpret the Bible in a fundamental way. There are fundamentalists in every religion. What brings Christian fundamentalists to the forefront in discussions about Evolution is that they demand that the literal interpretation of the Book of Genesis have a direct bearing on what is taught in science classes in public schools to our children. Church and God's grace is not sufficient for them as God told Paul in Corinthians it would be for him. And that to me is a Fundie. Corinthians 12: 7-9

When I use the term 'fundamentalist' I usually mean to refer to someone who refuses to consider other possibilities outside their narrow worldview, sort of like the common media usage of 'fundamentalists' to describe terrorists associated with extremist Muslim groups. I'm not saying any poster here fits that definition (I'm new anyway, and don't know any of you), just that this is how I apply the term. I tend to apply it is a negative way, so I'm surprised to see anyone happy about it. But perhaps it means sometimes different to the majority. GHitch, can I ask you to explain some of the items in your post? Specifically.... quote:
Archeology supports the historical accounts of the bible 100% thus far (according world renown archaeologist Nelson Gluek) -No one has ever proven any biblical account to be wrong -The evidence for the resurrection of Christ is enormous -The moral principles demanded by Christ are the highest and most noble ever spoken or written anywhere, any time I have never seen or heard of any evidence for the resurrection of Christ. Can you share? Also, I'm especially interested in hearing an explanation for the last bullet point, about morals. Thanks!

That would be a good topic for a new thread. It would take this one off topic to get into that too deeply, though.
