What show do you think has the best theme song on TV? Right now, I would have to say "Bones". Only show I don't flip away from during beginning/ending credits just so I can jam out to the theme song. hee. The Monk theme song is highly amusing too. "I could be wrong now.... BUT I DON'T THINK SO.... It's a jungle out there..." Edit: Worst theme song ever? Star Trek: Enterprise. You're expecting something majestic and orchestral, and you get some sort of hillbilly rock ballad about "I've got faaaaaith of the heeeeeeart..." that belongs on some sort of teen drama about what a big deal high school is. Ugh.

- The Flinstones
- Laverne and Shirley
- Happy Days
- The Heights
- The Greatest American Hero
- WKRP In Cincinnati

Best TV theme song: Psych. "I know, you know, that I'm not telling the truth..." Worst: I agree with Star Trek Enterprise, but also Firefly.

And of course Star Trek, the original version and Hill Street Blues too. And oh, how can anyone forge the theme from Cheers?

I would have to say: Greatest American Hero-- never watched the show, but love the song Gilligan's Island-- we all know now that you can sing Amazing Grace to its tune Green Acres Andy Griffith Bonanza The Monkees-- And don't forget the end title, "In this Generation" Cheers Golden Girls Paper Chase Eight is Enough The Jetsons The Flintstones-- I remember watching it as a young child when it first came out, back around '61 or 62, when it was on prime time and was supposed to be for adults, but kids stayed up late to watch it. Then about 40 yrs later, I finally learned what the words were to the line following, "Let's ride with the family down the street" (thanks to karaoke!) The next line goes, "thru the courtesy of Fred's 2 feet". And who could ever forget the wonderful "futuristic" whoosing sound of the theme song from the original Star Trek!

Anything you know all the words too, of course. I can't believe how many theme songs from the 60s, 70s, & 80s I know. But, many instrumentals are good too like Bob Newhart, That Girl. Today's instrumentals seem rather dull, but I'm intrigued w/ the variations for the L&O song. Most of them are so short, they are not really songs! k

The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. Night Court - One of the funkiest bass lines ever Barney Miller - Around season 3 or 4 Maynard Ferguson re-did it and it smokes. Taxi - Bob James had a contemporary jazz hit with this tune, entitled "Angela". Bosom Buddies - Billy Joel's "My Life". It was a poor cover version, but it's still a great song. Star Trek (Original Series) - Mainly for Shatner's monologue. "Space, the final frontier..." Star Trek TNG - Took the theme from the first ST movie. The Honeymooners Saturday Night Live - The early seasons when Lou Marini was playing sax.

The Jeffersons If the theme song got me to try to watch the show (even if I remembered it as boring) several times, then it is a good theme. Good Times wasn't bad either.

"Mary Tyler Moore" just like it "Beverly Hillbillies"/"Green Acres"/"Petticoat Junction" ... great now I'll be singing them today "CSI" "Friends"... ok the song was overplayed on the radio but it's fun song "Bugs Bunny Show"... "Overture, Curtains, Lights. This is it, we'll hit the heights. No more rehearsing and nursing of parts...." That one just makes me happy.
