Yep! Yippee!

I've got handbell practice tonight, though. I guess I'll start a time-shift recording before leaving; that way if I get back before it's over, we can start watching it. I don't think I want to wait until 10:00 pm to start watching a 2 hour premiere!

My DVR will be busy tonight. 'will be watching Survivor but we will be taping Ugly Betty but since Survivor's 2 hours, I will have to tape The Office as well. So I guess, Survivor comes on top of the list

Good start!

I didn't get to see... errr, the 2nd person voted out... that person's final words because our recording ended right before the final credits.

"In Memory of Alton Desiree" - I found a short, badly typed blog that said that he had drowned, reportedly in Brazil. So if that's where the next season is filmed, I guess he drowned recently. Or if it was wrong, he died during the filming of Gabon.

I did NOT like the "coming up in this show" clips during the first hour. For the next episode, yeah; but for the next segment? Dumb!

I'm glad Michelle girl is gone and same with Gillian. I do hope that Fang will win soon. I don't like it when it's one team dominating right away.

I am slightly disappointed in the Olympian's part in the tribe...she really hasn't been the physical asset I thought she would be.

I felt the same way about her (the Olympian). Also, there has been some gays in this show before but boy...Charlie is the first gay who pretty much showed ...I guess the stereotype. He's just drooling over Marcus. And I thought it was kinda funny when they were on the boat - Charlie talking about Marcus' hotness while Marcus is talking about the game. Charlie reminds me of an old friend of mine (and yes...he's gay), he always acted like he's a teenage girl around good looking guys.
So far...I'm liking Bob (he reminds me a bit of Yaoman) and Paloma...she's just way too cute. Her profile shows she's a Missionary kid but not sure if Christian missionaries.

I agree. Charlie is way over the top - I can't wait until he's gone. Ugh!

Is Bob the older guy who got on the boulder thing to untie the keys in that one challenge? I like him, too.

Yeah...Bob is the physics teacher who climbed and fixed the roof and built the bench. I thought that was pretty cool.

I normally tend to pull for an underdog team that loses the first few challenges but I don't really like anybody on that tribe. So I'll just wait the yellow tribe dominates and they start picking each other off to pick a fave. I was actually sad to see the first woman go, but Gillian yes, please. So annoying. But I kinda dig the anitsocial wedding videographer. I dunno. It's just me. I tend to root for the bad guys. Peace and togetherness people get boring quick.

OK - totally disappointed in that Olympic athlete. At first she said she wasn't going to tell anyone she's an Olympian (I'm assuming because they'd see her as a threat and she didn't want that), but I'm thinking now she wouldn't want to tell anyone because it'd be totally embarassing. How pathetic was that that they couldn't climb that hill?!

I think that Randy is kinda funny.

Bob is awesome! He looks much older than he is though.

in their defense, that hill was very steep...however, knowing they were going to be doing such challenges you would think they would have been gearing up physically to do them better then they did...esp since that was the START of the game. I am wondering how long they had been up by that point...cause they really looked worn out.

Oops - I meant to say it was pathetic that the Olympic athlete couldn't climb that hill. I'm sure it would be totally hard - but for someone who should be in the most amazing shape to have that difficult of a time?

Of course, it's been 4 years since she was in the Olympics. Who knows what kind of shape she's in right now. She didn't exactly look slim and trim and in peak racing shape.

True. But if I was a former Olympic athlete, I'm pretty sure I'd get myself into shape before going on Survivor. you KNOW the fact's going to come out, at least to the viewers - and I wouldn't want to embarrass myself.

She probably "bulked up" (i.e. gained fat) before going on the show since usually people lose so much weight. If I were going on Survivor and didn't already have 30-40 pounds to lose, that's what I'd do! Maybe she's just plain not used to running with her extra bulk. Hee hee!

I was also curious about the "in memory of" thing. This is what I found -

"Alton Desiree was a crew member of the reality show Survivor. He was on location in Brazil, where he had been since September 9. The details are vague, but apparently he needed to fix something underwater for the television show.

After a few minutes had passed and Alton didn’t resurface, another crew member went underwater to search for him. Desiree could not be found, so a crew member from Australia called his wife Susa, to notify her that her husband was missing.

About an hour and a half later, Susa learned that he had been found dead.

We will provide more details as they come."

oh that is so sad...I wish they had given more then just an "In Memory Of..." about him.

thanks for finding and posting that info though.
