Sorry for the slow response.

Welcome to Crosswalk. I hope you are still reading.

Praying is the absolute best thing you can do in my opinion. The Lord is so good to show us what to do and bring people and things into focus that can help us. That's been my experience anyway.

One of the things that the Lord has shown me is that it is a great blessing to be able to compare notes, as it were, with several of the people on this website and others. It's helped me gain a realistic reference point.

Actually, since you won't need to UNteach him a load of garbage everyday, you can move ahead in a straight line. You are also teaching him that God is indispensable, and a scheme that begins by discarding the Person, Word, Work, and Son of God is unacceptable. Write the following equation on your mirror in lipstick, or somewhere as a constant reminder:

(Family + God) > (School - God)

Home schooling my kids has been one of the most important things I've done for God's kingdom in my lifetime.

I feel similarly. I know I'm supposed to be doing it.

That's no commentary on what anyone else is doing. It's just a comment about our family and what we believe we are to be about.
