This is intended to be a place to talk about what you do in your daily life, makes lists of what you need to accomplish, and have a bit of enjoyment in crossing those things off the list...along with the joy of fellowshipping with women who can help keep you going with encouragement and tips when needed. It is for all women, whether at home or working, single or married, with or without kids, young or old....we all at some times need this, so here it is again. (this is not intended to be like the current chat threads, but discussion on the daily lists is ok).

I am trying to get back into getting this house up and running again after having a baby a few months ago, so I need this thread again. Didn't want to dig up the old one so I started a new one!!!!
Usually we take Sunday's off from chores, but we did that yesterday instead because of Jake's birthday. Plus Paul is working today, so it's like a regular work day I guess. I can't go to church because he has the van.

today's list...
  • clean living room
  • clean boy's room
  • vacuum all carpet
  • try to work on organizing new office more.
  • clean my room (how did that much clean laundry get all over in there? I don't even have a top to my dresser right now. Paul really needs to fix the light so I can have light in there and better keep up with things...maybe he needs that on HIS list...lol)

I probably won't get everything done today, but I usually do a list at the beginning of the week and carry things over throughout that week when I can get them done. Since this is my first week even trying to accomplish this much after having Justice, and since he seems to think he needs to be in my arms about 23 out of 24 hours a day, I decided to start small with my list.

This is a good idea. I would really like to have something to keep me accountable.
Here lately no chores are getting done until i realize that its like 20 mins and dh will be home soon.
So we rush around trying to at least make it look like i did something.
Today is Sunday so no chores here but tomorrow oh boy long list.

Thanks for starting this thread again Sarah! I love this thread!!

Mary and I went to church last night (that was a gong show, I think I might have heard 3 words the whole time, Mary was tired and a monster!) so today we are going to do some serious tidying, I need to get my butt in gear!

I am going to start with a simple list and hopefully expand when I accomplish it. If I make a list that is too intimidating I probably won't do it.

-get rid of the laundry that has taken over my living room (folded AND put away)
    -sweep and swiffer floors
-clean little piles of stuff in living room
-remember to eat and take vitamins (you can laugh but I honestly need to write this on my list these days!)

Okay there... I will start with that. Here is hoping I can be productive!

Oh, this was my motivation thread before. I have been so lazy this past week, but I have laundry to do, a house to clean, and I still have tiles in my basement to pull up by Wednesday. AND our exchange student arrives on Thursday so I have to shop for a gift for him, and then put a birthday party together for him since his birthday is like 2 days after he gets here. We are going to keep it small. Us and our parents and sibs. Burgers on the grill and cake. Oh gosh, I need to get going on all of this.

    Yikes. Today was a bust....

I ate... and took my vitamins... and folded the laundry (it isn't put away though)....

I need to talk to hubby and make things better, I have been feeling upset all day and I think that really contributed to my lack of productiveness. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

We're throwing a family bbq this weekend, so I need to get things in order for that.

    -try out one last recipe
    -finalize menu
    -make grocery list
-call to confirm the time with people
    -confirm we have a barbecue.

Around the house I need to:

    -clean bathroom
    -sweep and mop bedroom floor

Thanks Sarah I think this will be a huge help with me keeping up with things.

    Today I have to:
    Clean the bathroom
    Do laundry
Sweep and mop floors(so sad we don't have carpet just tile)
Get the kids started on school
    Go to library

I think that is it for now. I have lots more to do but put to much on my to do list I get overwhelmed and end up doing nothing.

I'm curious...does everyone have a daily routine that sticks every day?

For example, when I wake up I:
    -make a cup of tea
    -check email and forums
    -exercise
    -daily devotional reading

we used to have a much more structured day, but Justice is messing everything up right now. With older kids though there are some things that have to stick every day whether there is a baby or not...like meal times, nap/rest for the kids, etc.

    Today I need to...

    - Do laundry (I have a washer-dryer combo. Which means it's small, plus it takes almost 4 hours to do a single load. So I do laundry all the time.)
    - Tidy up and vacuum
    - Clean the bathrooms
    - Figure out how to implement a tree control in the rather sparse Microsoft Silverlight browser plugin which requires at least 3 languages, and does not technically support tree controls. Le sigh.
    - Deal with a problematic investment company
    - See if we have the proper licensing through yet for the image processing stuff that I was going to run code interface tests on last Friday (it crashed, which is when I realized we were lacking 1 out of 5 licenses. meh.)
    - Make dinner at some point (I'm thinking I'll make some homemade pita bread and hummus with a little marinated chicken, because I have some cucumbers that need eaten)

I have to pack more into my days this week as we're taking friday through monday off. And by "taking off", I mean "driving to our previous house in the mountains and working desperately on getting the heating system installed before the snow flies so we can rent the thing". I am sore from this weekend, but I should be okay by then. Don't tell my obstetrician. *sigh*

Every weekday we go outside 10:30 to 11 to play in the park (weather permitting), have lunch around 11 when we get back inside, then baby has a nap until around 3. That's when I get most of my work done. hehehe.

I love lists. They make me feel like I'm getting stuff done. hee.

Eep. Time to sunscreen up the baby and head out the door.

Guess I will put that on the list for tomorrow it is my least favorite job in the whole house.

Ok, today I got through tons of papers. I am so proud of that because we had so many papers from the old house, then from the move, and we have been accumulating more than what we have been able to sort through and get rid of. I am almost decluttered!!!!!!!!! Oh, and my house is straightened, but I didn't do dishes or scrub bathrooms and floors.

It's interesting to see that I'm not the only one who assigns bathroom cleaning to the lowest priority rung.

I didn't get mine done either.

I didn't get mine done either...to the top of the list (and the back of my mind) it goes.

    Today:

-clean bathroom (I would assign it to someone else but they don't clean it to my standards)
    -dust living room
-make grocery list for bbq items
-force Dh to call his sister and tell her about bbq
    -tidy bedroom

I get up when LO wakes up
    Give him a bottle
    Get him settled to play
    Grab a cup of coffee
    Check email/facebook/CW
Get breakfast for LO and me
Play, put him down for nap

That's it usually, unless we have to be somewhere in the morning.

I cleaned my house spotless yesterday because i had a Norwex party last night.

    Today I need to:
-Clean blueberries (about 20 lbs of them)
    -Laundry
-Go for a walk or do my workout video.

    clean bathroom(done)
wash cleaning towels(load 2 is in the dryer)
    vacuum main floor(done)
walk the dog 4 times(4 out of 4)
    walk with my friend(done)
    keep kitchen clean and tidy(done)
    Go to bed (done)

    So, today I need to:

    - Clean the bathrooms
    - Licensing came in this morning, so I have to run those code tests I tried to run Friday, if nothing else goes horribly wrong
    - Work on that tree control some more
    - Do more laundry and fold the laundry from yesterday
    - Tidy up the house (constant necessity with 18 month old. hehe)
    - Figure out what I'm making for dinner
    - Go grocery shopping (this will have to wait until hubby gets home so I can have the car. After all the work this weekend and being 4 months pregnant, I'm not in the mood to walk 2 miles pushing a stroller in 90 degree weather a mile above sea level)

    Hi all.

OK my day is totally off already. My mom called last night and wanted me to come out this morning. So we went out there at 8 this morning. Ah so tired. The kids are fighting so they must be tired.

I still need to clean the bathroom(I would assign to someone else but I is it)
    Finish the laundry
    Sweep the floors
Plan the grocery list when the paper comes in mail
