Eventhough summer is still in full swing, it is time to think about signing up for the fall SS exchange. The theme this time is going to be simply Autumn. You are free to look at your sisters list and prior posts to shop for anything you think she may like or you might want to introduce her to that has ANYTHING to do with fall at a limit of no more than $15.00 and that includes shipping. Signup will start now in this thread and we will finish on the 31st of August. Names will be sent out by September 5th. Fill out the questions below and then PM your mailing info to me. Also, please send along your phone number if you are comfortable just in case. As usual, the rules for joining the SS exchange is 500 posts or more and active posting in the Women's only folder. No offense to anyone, but , personal information is exhanged, so stick around and post so that we can get to know you better. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or BlessedMamaofmany. 1. What kind of climate do you live in? (yes or no to blankets and warm things) 2. What are your interests? 3. What is your favorite color 4. Do you have a favorite drink for the fall? 5. Do you collect anthing? 6. Are you willing to mail a package out of your country? 7. What would you like us and your sister to pray for? 8. Anything you want to tell us about yourself to make shopping easy for your Sis. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!!

1. What kind of climate do you live in [yes or no to blankets]? Very hot in summer but cold in the wintermso we need blankets 2. What are your interests? Children, music, & helping others. I am not an outdoors person. 3. What is your favorite color? Blue [to go with my eyes] & pink 4. Do you have a favorite drink for fall? Cold cider but nothing hot to drink also can not have alot of sugar 5. Do you collect anything? Mickey Mouse 6. Are you willing to mail a package out of the country? Yes 7. What would you like us & your sister to pray for? I have an unspoken request that I can not post on the board. Salvation for my family. That I might do God's will with my work at the Rescue Mission every week. 8. Anything you want to tell us about yourself to make shopping easy for your sister. ORIGINAL: peculiar_lady2 I know I started the planning thread, but I am bowing out of this one...sorry, but $15 plus shipping is too much for me right now. We understand...but I would like to clarify that the 15 dollar limit is to include shipping...not in addition to. Which is also why the question about being willing to ship out of your country is on there. I know it costs quite a penny to ship out of country sometimes, so if you can't spare the extra $ for shipping out of the country you're in, you can ask for a SS in your country, then you have a bit more wiggle room. Also, the 15 dollar limit is just that. A limit. Not a requirement. In fact, during the sock exchange, I was well under the limit and still did pretty well for my sis...if I do say so myself For example, I got several pairs of cute socks at the dollar store (5 dollars total), mailed it regular mail (within the US) for less than 2 dollars. (I did manage to cram it into a small envelope LOL)...for a grand total of about 8 dollars. My point is...Sarah, you could always request someone in the US...even near to you state-wise (That would be no problem right Tracy?)...keep the cost low on the things you get, and mail it a little early, then you can send it parcel post for less than 5 dollars most likely. Of course, I'm not trying to pressure you Dear. Just wanted to clarify some things..I'm bummed at the thought of someone not being able to play. That being said, I understand that you can't play this go around...we'll miss ya! Sandy

Ok, I wasn't clear enough so I changed the post. But yes Sarah, I did specify NO MORE THAN 15.00. So participate if you want. I actually have been collecting things here and there for little gifts that I just like to keep around the house and do not plan on spending that much money.

1. What kind of climate do you live in? (yes or no to blankets and warm things) In the fall, it is warm days and cool nights (I live in Canada) 2. What are your interests? Camping, running, outdoor things 3. What is your favorite color Purple 4. Do you have a favorite drink for the fall? I love when eggnog finally hits the shelves! I love most hot drinks except tea. Tea is kinda gross. But I love coffee, flavored hot chocolates, hot cider etc. 5. Do you collect anthing? Not really anymore. Actually, I probably collect too much "stuff".... I really have nowhere to put stuff. 6. Are you willing to mail a package out of your country? As long as it can get there by UPS. That's how I ship things, it's at least half the cost of shipping by mail. 7. What would you like us and your sister to pray for? My return to work in September, and for our house building, we are starting a major renovation project, and will be going on through the fall. 8. Anything you want to tell us about yourself to make shopping easy for your Sis. I'm pretty easy going...just getting something in the mail will make me happy! I love photos and notes too If I could have a picture of my SS's family to put on my fridge would be neat too. Oh, I love mittens, but I have man-size hands LOL

1. What kind of climate do you live in? (yes or no to blankets and warm things) I live in Canada...nuff said. For the fall, it's still pretty warm during the day but gets very cold at night. I like warm things (for example, scarves) but I do have more than enough blankets. 2. What are your interests? Reading. Right now I don't get much time for my interests, but I always find time to read (books, magazines.) I do have scrapbooking stuff for when I get the time. 3. What is your favorite color Red. I also like blue. I'm not big on pink or green for myself. 4. Do you have a favorite drink for the fall? I love tea. Every time I go grocery shopping I buy a new tea to try. I like all types, all flavours. I also enjoy hot chocolate on cold days. I am not a coffee person. 5. Do you collect anthing? I don't really collect anything someone could send (I collect chess sets from countries I visit...that's about it!) 6. Are you willing to mail a package out of your country? I'm willing to mail to the US, but anywhere else will be too difficult. Because I send through the regular mail (the post office is right across the street) sending a package international will probably eat up my entire $15! 7. What would you like us and your sister to pray for? For my family's wellbeing (we're hoping to have another child soon) and for my husband's work (he's a contract teacher right now and we're hoping for something permanent soon.) 8. Anything you want to tell us about yourself to make shopping easy for your Sis. I've mentioned before that I still owe FedEx from the last SS, so if it's possible to send it through regular mail I would appreciate it (I got charged for border fees the last time), if you can't though that is ok. Other than that I'm very easy to shop for, I love the connections of SS.

I love when Secret Sister time rolls around... 1. What kind of climate do you live in? (yes or no to blankets and warm things) I live in rural England...it gets pretty chilly! 2. What are your interests? I love to read and bake and write letters, I sing more than is healthy for anyone , and I'm learning how to knit and sew and cook more exciting dishes. 3. What is your favorite color? I have many - I just love colours in general! But fall colours seem apt, don't you think? 4. Do you have a favorite drink for the fall? Hot chocolate or a nice cup of tea! 5. Do you collect anything? Friends 6. Are you willing to mail a package out of your country? Yep. 7. What would you like us and your sister to pray for? Oooh, this is a deep one. Well, I've reached the point where I feel I'm ready to (and God is leading me towards) settle down. As little as it is, I'd love for my SS (and anyone else who'd like to) to pray towards this - I'd love to meet a man I could build a life with. I can't wait to build a home and a family and help someone achieve all his dreams. 8. Anything you want to tell us about yourself to make shopping easy for your Sis. I'm just your average smiley girl, I guess. I'm a teacher (7-to-8 year olds), I love to laugh, and I adore helping people.

ORIGINAL: MrsTracy72 1. What kind of climate do you live in? (yes or no to blankets and warm things) Damp and rainy autumns and winters. Yes to the blankets because we only have electric space heaters. All they really do is run up the electric bill, not the indoor temp. quote:
2. What are your interests? Posting, reading, taking care of my 15 yo dd and my two nieces. quote:
3. What is your favorite color Anything except orange or yellow. quote:
4. Do you have a favorite drink for the fall? I like most of them. quote:
5. Do you collect anything? Friends. Coffee mugs, old books, DVDs of classic movies and TV shows ('50s and before.) quote:
6. Are you willing to mail a package out of your country? Yes. quote:
7. What would you like us and your sister to pray for? I will be starting back to college (after almost 20 years), I need to get disability, my dd and I need to find another place to live where there is more privacy. I need more motivation!! quote:
8. Anything you want to tell us about yourself to make shopping easy for your Sis. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!!!! I live in a 700 square foot home and there are seven people (four adults, a teenager, a 10 year old and an eight year old), three adult cats and another cat who "adopted" us last Tuesday, two five month old kittens and at least two kittens who are about three days old. We have only been able to see a little bit of the kittens. However, we have at least eight felines living here now. Are we allowed to send kitties as SS gifts?! I am the only adult Christian living here. My dd needs prayers as she is not sure where she stands with her faith anymore (her world has been rocked!) and my 10 yo niece is asking a lot of questions about God and shown some interest in going to church.
