Rush is by far my favorite band!

Right on! I thinks it's cool the way you can hear Zeppelin's influence on Rush's early recordings like this one.
Garden Road - Rush
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_2cgHHK3fc

So that was from the Caress of Steel tour? Why would they not put that song on the album? It absolutely rocked! A couple years ago a band called Wolfmother put out a song called Woman. Almost identical. I'm not sure I hear the Zeppelin influence in that. The album from them that sounds mostly inspired by Zeppelin in the original self titled album. I really think that Neil Peart both with his musicianship, and his lyrics really made them into something unique.

Yeah, the only thing Wolf Mother was missing was a lead guitarist.

Wolf Mother put on a great live show.

I think we should petition Lee, Lifeson, and Peart to do a studio recording of that song for their next album.

Here are a couple of my Top 10 All-Time Favorite songs (my top ten list has about 100 songs )

Burnin' For You -- Blue Oyster Cult

Summer of '69 -- Bryan Adams

Two great songs. (I admit that I'm a closet Bryan Adams fan!)

Two great Thin Lizzy songs:
Jailbreak
The Cowboy Song
You even get some of those 70's "harmony" guitar solos! :)

Here's a great one from Manfred Mann: For You

Great Thin Lizzy songs, Shema. One of my favorites is Whiskey In the Jar. I really like the Metallica version, too.

I have no recollection of that band. Good 80s rock, nonetheless.

Stone Cold Fever -- Humble Pie. Steve Marriott was one of the top five greatest rock and roll singers IMO.

Skateaway -- Dire Straits

Nope. Those must have been from my dark ages of the early 80s. I love the Les Paul tone on that song, though.

They remind me of the Grateful Dead there.

Hey Dad...

Ahhhh….Back to normal....

When you brought up Blackfoot… I remembered that name… And when I looked and saw they did this one also... Wishing well ….but I don’t know who did the original song first? ,

We did these songs.. we did Wishing Well and dabbled with the other, but I can’t remember if we did it all the way..

I'm not quite sure what that sounds like, but I know it will be a lot of fun!

Here's an awesome instrumental from the Butterfield Blues Band --East-West. The first guitar part is Elvin Bishop; the second is Mike Bloomfield. Unbelievable! I bought the LP on a whim from a used record store many years ago, and it remains one of my favorite impulse buys. This Youtube version is not the complete song.

Here's another guitar song: The Outlaws -- High Tides and Green Grass.
