LOL! Resistance is futile http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZEJ4OJTgg8 Very cool! Thank you. quote:
But before I do--This is best Skynyrd song ever: That Smell That song stinks! I prefer this one: Simple Man And in honor of school: Oh Yeah! I agree that That Smell has an odd odor. I love the Rock and Roll High School movie! It's so goofy that it's great! I don't think I've seen Heart in this thread yet. Here are two of my very favorites: Crazy On You--Just plain rocks Alone--One of Anne's most powerful vocals. Here's a cheesy 80s video, but a great song: .38 Special--So Caught Up In You. I like a lot of Rush stuff, but I don't have any of their music. I should start collecting some.

Speaking of great bass players, this one is pretty awesome and she's only in her early 20s. Not really a classic video, but Jeff Beck's cover of his own classic song. Cause We Ended as Lovers quote:
Check out Ann just tearing it up. The short drum solo is extremely cool too (IMO). That song really rocks!

That was them ...(the crowd was chanting Angus in the beginning) "Angus... is one thing about ACDC that is highly recognizable.. Didn’t see Malcolm in the mix.. Angus was the best.. Besides Angus hanging the moon at the audience during some leads …the singer would carry him on his shoulders throughout the crowd while in a song... I forget what song it was.....but they were a lot of fun to watch. Malcolm might have been detoxing at the time...He's claimed at one point that he's actually a better guitar player than Angus but playing interfered with his drinking. That singer is Brian Johnson. I prefer Bon Scott. :)

I'm not a huge fan of The Scorpions but would probably put this song on my Top 100 list. Talk about a ballad that rocks! Still Loving You

I always figured it was a maniacal laugh that fitted the "drum beat of doom" vibe of the song.

ORIGINAL: LoyalGypsy That Vai was great, had bit of rattle little like Deep Purple (what ever happened to him?) and (what’s with the guy in the suit?) Night Job? Steve Vai is still around, still making his bread playing. Nothing on the radio, that I know of though. The guy in the suit is Graham Bonnet. He also played with Richie Blackmore's Rainbow. Here's a couple of my favorite Stones songs... Can't You Hear Me Knocking--Love the intro riffing. She's A Rainbow--Great bit of quality Psychedelia. I don't remember if I posted this one before, but it's the Beatles rooftop concert in 1969. There are three parts to it. Great stuff, especially when the cops show up. My favorite song on that is One After 909. Beatles

ORIGINAL: shawke Sounds a bit like Black Sabbath. Yeah, very heavy stuff. They were the real deal (in spite of Lady Starlight) before they succumbed to the whole power ballad thing. Here's another one with the same kind of vibe: China White - Scorpions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I72sycdN0Gw&feature=related

Wow! That's something, and I don't think I've ever seen a Dobro used that way.

This is my favorite cover of a Hendrix tune: Little Wing--Derek and the Dominos.
