Mothers Day is this Sunday. Received this in an email: This just about covers it. I could, however, remember quite a few events which were not cvered but which most mothers do not ever encounter. I can tell all of you one truth throughout all of my motherhood; no matter how difficult circumstances became [ and there were many] and no matter how I was understood or misunderstood then or now and no matter how deep the pain stabbed then or now, my Lord, my Daddy, my Abba, my Everything was ALWAYS there in the circumstance to show me that He loved us all and that there was a bright and glorious future for all. So as I look at Mothers Day, it is somewhat different than most mothers will experience the day. I rejoice in knowing that there is healing in His presence and rejoice in knowing that every mother is in need of healing and forgiveness in some area. Even those "perfect" mothers are subject to giving our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazereth who came in the flesh glory for their "perfection". And then those of us who were not perfect mothers but who struggled against all odds and never felt we quite made the cut, even we are perfect in His eyes and He loves it when we sit in His lap and lay our head on His shoulder and just enjoy being in His presence and being who He created us to be. So as a mother, I think of my wonderful children and grandchildren on Mothers Day. I pray that they will experience the love of the Father and that they will experience lives full of Abba's presence. ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN, Anne

Santa, I intended to tell you last night how much I appreciate your finding these inspirational things and sharing them with us, but my internet went out after I typed the post and it apparently did not go through. So I'm saying it now.

Thanks, Kerr. I hope they are enjoyed by a lot of people. And I enjoy your answers on the forums. You amaze me at times. Maybe things will work out for you to be at the next Mull sing on June 30th. Would be good to meet you and Mrs. K. I did talk to David Hoskins last Sat. night and he said he did remember you. You know he is the MC at the concerts. Have a great day. God Bless! Santa

It will be a good night all the way around. I like the ones you mentioned and also like Ivan Parker and the Greene's. And I was OK'd to be off from work that night. They also will have a meal at the restaurant next to the theater that night where you can meet and eat with the Hopper's before the concert. Hopper's will do a mini-concert. The church has a Chef on staff that will do the cooking. Not sure if we will do that or not.

To the point: A Sunday school teacher decided to have her young class memorize one of the most quoted passages in the Bible: Psalm 23. She gave the youngsters a month to learn the chapter. Little Rick was excited about the task, but he just couldn't remember the Psalm. After much practice, he could barely get past the first line. On the day that the kids were scheduled to recite Psalm 23 in front of the congregation, Rickey was very nervous. When it was his turn, he stepped up to the microphone and said proudly, "The Lord is my Shepherd, and that's all I need to know."

Church Football: Quarterback Sneak - Church members quietly leaving during the invitation. Draw Play - What many children do with the bulletin during worship. Halftime - The period between Sunday school and worship when many choose to leave. Benchwarmer - Those who do not sing, pray, work, or do anything but sit. Backfield-in-Motion - Making a trip to the back (restroom or water fountain) during the service. Staying in the Pocket - What happens to a lot of money that should be given to the Lord's work. Two-minute Warning - The point at which you realize the sermon is almost over and begin to gather up your children and belongings. Instant Replay - The preacher loses his notes and falls back on last week's illustrations. Sudden Death - What happens to the attention span of the congregation if the preacher goes "overtime." Trap - You're called on to pray and are asleep. End Run - Getting out of church quick, without speaking to any guest or fellow member. Flex Defense - The ability to allow absolutely nothing said during the sermon to affect your life. Halfback Option - The decision of 50% of the congregation not to return for the evening service. Blitz - The rush for the restaurants following the closing prayer.

Are You Jesus? As you read this think about what you would do! "Excuse me, Are you Jesus?" This is really powerful and makes one think!!!! A few years ago, a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding. ALL BUT ONE !!! He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned. He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor. He was glad he did. The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight. The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket. When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay?" She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly." As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister...." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?" He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?" Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace. If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day. You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY And may JESUS keep you safe and joyful!

Seeing is Believing? One day, a 6 year old girl, Susie, was sitting in her classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children. The teacher asked a little boy: Teacher: Tommy, do you see the tree outside? Tommy: Yes. Teacher: Tommy, do you see the grass outside? Tommy: Yes. Teacher: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky. Tommy: Ok. (He goes out and returens) Yes, I saw the sky. Teacher: Did you see God? Tommy: No. Teacher: That's my point. We can't see God because He isn't there. The little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions. The teacher agreed and the little girl asked: Susie: Tommy, do you see the tree outside? Tommy: Yes. Susie: Tommy, do you see the grass outside? Tommy: Yessss.. (getting tired of the questions) Susie: Did you see the sky? Tommy: Yesssssss. Susie: Do you see the teacher? Tommy: Yes. Susie: Do you see her brain? Tommy: No. Susie: Does that mean she doesn't have one?

With your permission Santa. I received this this morning and had to pass it on. Subject: THE SCARS OF LIFE >> >> >>Some years ago, on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. >>He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. >>His father working in the yard saw the two as they got closer and closer together. In utter fear, he ran toward the water, yelling to his son as loudly as he could. >>Hearing his voice, the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn to swim to his father. It was too late. Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him. From the dock, the father grabbed his little boy by the arms just as the alligator snatched his legs. That began an incredible tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father, but the father was much too passionate to let go. A farmer happened to drive by, heard his screams, raced from his truck, took aim and shot the alligator. Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital, the little boy survived. His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack of the animal. And, on his arms, were deep scratches where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort to hang on to the son he loved. >>The newspaper reporter who interviewed the boy after the trauma, asked if he would show him his scars. The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter, "But look at my arms. I have great scars on my arms, too. I have them because my Dad wouldn't let go." >>You and I can identify with that little boy. We have scars, too. No, not from an alligator, but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars are unsightly and have caused us deep regret. But, some wounds, my friend, are because God has refused to let go. In the midst of your struggle, He's been there holding on to you. >>The Scripture teaches that God loves you. You are a child of God He wants to protect you and provide for you in every way But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life is filled with peril - and we forget that the enemy is waiting to attack. That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have the scars of His love on your arms, be very, very grateful. He did not and will not ever let you go. >>Right now, someone needs to know that God loves them, and you love them too- enough to not let them go.

Who is Jesus? IN CHEMISTRY, HE TURNED WATER TO WINE. IN BIOLOGY, HE WAS BORN WITHOUT THE NORMAL CONCEPTION; IN PHYSICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF GRAVITY WHEN HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN; IN ECONOMICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURN BY FEEDING 5000 MEN WITH 2 FISHES & 5 LOAVES OF BREAD; IN MEDICINE, HE CURED THE SICK AND THE BLIND WITHOUT ADMINISTERING A SINGLE DOSE OF DRUGS, IN HISTORY, HE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END; IN GOVERNMENT, HE SAID THAT HE SHALL BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, PRINCE OF PEACE; IN RELIGION, HE SAID NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH HIM; SO, WHO IS HE? He is JESUS! HE IS WORTHY! IN GOD I'VE FOUND EVERYTHING! The Greatest Man in History Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master. Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. I feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us! Just remember that Jesus said ... "If you deny me before man, I will deny you before my Father in Heaven.

This will be post 100 in this thread. Thanks for reading the "Inspirations From Santa". And I appreciate the comments about my postings also. God Bless. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 10 WAYS THE BIBLE WOULD BE DIFFERENT (If Written By College Students) 10. Last Supper would have been eaten the next morning - cold. 9. The Ten Commandments are actually only five, double-spaced, and written in a large font. 8. New edition every two years in order to limit reselling. 7. Forbidden fruit would have been eaten because it wasn't cafeteria food. 6. Paul's letter to the Romans becomes Paul's e-mail to abuse@romans.gov. 5. Reason Cain killed Abel: They were roommates. 4. The place where the end of the world occurs: Finals, not Armageddon. 3. Out go the mules, in come the mountain bikes. 2. Reason why Moses and followers walked in desert for 40 years: They didn't want to ask directions and look like freshmen. 1. Instead of God creating the world in six days and resting on the seventh, He would have put it off until the night before it was due and then pulled an all-nighter.
