I'm smiling because I got much accomplished at work today....not all that I had hoped to but enough to feel a big sigh of relief. Ahhhhhh.......
And sorry to break it to you Joy, but I don't think I'm going to be able to see Lake Michigan from my new apartment. I did a drive by tonight and I don't think I'm high enough up....but I'll be less than a mile from it.
And I'm smiling because I got my official move in date today!!! I go sign the papers and get my key next Friday! Yeah!!!

So, I caught up.
Veronica, WhooHoo on the move in date. And for being so close to the lake. Aren't the great lakes beautiful? I can't see Superior from my house either, but I am only about 6 blocks from her.
I am smiling today because I had a 4 day weekend, and it was full of good smiles! I did some sewing, some shopping, stopped in to see my DS and Grandkids and got a bonus- one of his good friends from HS and her husband and 6 mos. old DD were coming over too, so I got to stay and see them! Then yesterday afternoon the kids and my "other mother" (my Godmother, actually) came over for prime rib dinner. I'm still full! We had lots of smiles though. LOL, have I ever mentioned that my kids and grandkids make me smile?

I am smiling because my cousin got to come home from rehab last night, I hadn't got to see him
for three months after the car wreck, so getting to see him again was awesome! He truly was
one of my best friends before he got so off track and the wreck has really brought him around to
see there is more to life than just partying every weekend. He still has a long way to go to full
recovery, but just seeing what God has done so far in his life makes me SMILE!

I'm smiling because I just got through listening to the song "Dance or Die" by Family Force 5 on the radio!
It is such a silly and almost bordering on the edge of a stupid song, but it makes me smile for
some reason and want to get up and dance...hmmm...I wonder why on earth that is...LOL!!!

Good afternoon all you wonderful people on CW..........what a beautiful day...........very beautiful..........
This morning I woke up to a whole new world......over the night we had the needed drop in temperature to bring out all the colors..........when I went to bed a few trees had changed, this morning WOW........a world of reds, oranges, burgundies,pinks and yellows.........it is so beautiful.........makes you smile big time.
As I was marveling at the beauty surrounding me, amazed at how quickly it popped out with the cold weather, a thought accrued to me..........
The laws of nature, how God designed His creation, speaks His truth into situations, thoughts, and experiences in a way which really makes it come alive.
What God spoke to me today through the laws of nature which says when there is a drastic change in temperature beauty pops out.........
It is often after the coldness of one relationship we experience the colorful beauty of another.
How often we close ourselves up in pain or put up walls when a relationship which seemed so warm suddenly becomes cold........we feel the coldness and respond by wrapping ourselves up trying to get warm........I wonder does doing so often keep us from experiencing God's beautiful response to the sudden chill in our heart?
I look at the times in my life when words, actions, or non action of another or a circumstance have been like the cold, freezing winds from the north, reaching out to squeeze my heart.......
During those times, when I was most vulnerable, saying goodbye to a relationship, hope, or dream which was dying, my heart feeling so cold, God placed people in my life who brought such beauty and color.......people who I had not really noticed before the coldness took on a new colorful appearance........and to them I found my eyes drawn.
After the freeze, people seem to pop up with beautiful hearts willing to listen, and through them, the love they give, the season of letting go, of dying to hopes, dreams, and relationships, is not near as dark and scary. Their falling gifts of beauty cover the ground of my pain in such a way letting go is tolerable. They helped me make it through this season and are helping lead me into a new season full of excitement.
Thinking of the people, both present and past, who have popped up as beautiful, colorful leaves during times of letting go in my life makes me smile.
I have seen a few trees full of beautiful leaves, who popped up during the coldest nights of my life, and gently release their love leaves to cover the ugliness of my circumstance here on CW.
Though I think of you often I do not take the time to tell you how much beauty I have found in our friendships. I don't say how much I appreciate the time you spend, giving of yourself, to add color to my life........I don't tell you how much your friendship makes me smile.
Thank you my friends in the single forum for being trees, with leaves of many colors, falling through this season of my life with me. Thank you for popping up in the cold of the night to add warmth to my heart and for making the transition from old to new full of beauty.
God's changing colors in my life makes me smile..........God's gift of colorful hearts who seem pop out after the freeze makes me smile..............
Fall makes me smile..........

The colors of Fall are so beautiful, so are the colors of friendship. And just like no two trees are alike, no two friendships or relationships are either. Now and then the colors blaze beautifully and then like the leavs fall and are gone, sometimes they are "evergreens" . Isn't it interesting that God gave us the glory of the Fall leaves just before the long cold white of winter? And then after we think we are "tired" of seeing the white of snow, POP- there is the beautiful blue (skies/water), green (grass/trees) and yellow (sun)of summer!
Nature, relationships, friends, and God make me smile...

I also love that before he births new life into our hopes, dreams and relationships we experience a season where he takes the dead parts of our lives, covers them with snow and reveals to us how beautiful we are when seen as white as snow............I think it is only when we begin to see those areas of our lives ,which have died ,through God's cleansing snow, and open our eyes to see how he sees us......... covered in snow.......... are we ready to bloom in the new season in our lives.
Will you join me, my friends, as we walk through the beauty of the fall, begin to see ourselves as white as snow, and start receiving all the new blooms God from what God has planted? I am excited for the journey.
You know I just can't help smiling.........
How powerful God speaks through all things..........how we can find and love Him in everything and everyone..........and how our lives our surrounded by His truths.........sometimes leaves me wishing my voice could speak what my spirit hears...........
God is amazing.......and knowing Him makes me smile.

A post, written by John_O, got me thinking last week about how we can only love God to the degree that we love ourselves as we are seen through God's eyes, and guess what??? ... both my class weds night at church and Sunday's service spoke , at points almost word for word, what God had spoken to me as I was discussing the topic with Him.........
I believe when God shares something with us he will always confirm it for us yet even though I believe and have experienced over and over how he does this I am still amazed each time. it happens.....
God speaking to us makes me smile..........
