This most likely has been asked before but please indulge me. My question is this; Is it wrong of me to want my wife to wear a bikini when we are at the beach, water park or just swimming in our pool? The smaller the bikini the better I like it. I do not say this becuase I am some sick pervert but rather it just really pleases me for my beautiful wife wear such a bathing suit. She is so pretty and she had nothing to be ashamed of. In fact I believe it helps her self esteem to do so. Just my thoughts, give me your opinions. Thanks and please no smart remarks.

Do you like other men drooling over your wife? And no, that's not meant as a smart remark, but is a serious question.

I think it's great that you enjoy and appreciate your wife's body for her body belongs to you and your body belongs to her. It does seem that you want to advertised or show off what is yours in this case being your wife's body. Why?

God's gift is for us to enjoy one another sexually in the context of marriage it is not to tempt others to lust or sin. I would hope your wife's self esteem comes from alot more than how she looks in a bikini in public and I would hope yours does too.

Are you trying to prove something to yourself? Or something to others?

Be Gone if u don't think it is why ask? Do u want your ears tickled or do you want the truth? Assuming u and your wife are Christian then women are to dress modestly in all occasions when out in pubic. Do as u see fit be gone. U will anyway. Take ur wife to the beach and dress her like all the unsaved women who prance around in their garb. If ur wife does not mind then who am i to argue? It would be interesting to see where the two of u are at five years from now.

I think the answer is different if you are talking about the beach versus your own backyard pool. In public, I would say modesty is the more relevant guideline.

If you are in the privacy of your backyard, modesty is not an issue, so that is a more appropriate time to dress in that manner.

Are you and your wife Christians? If so, then it would not be appropriate for her to wear a skimpy bikini in public. That would cause other men to stumble when they look at her. If you are in the privacy of your own backyard then go for it.

Yes, there have been threads on this before. My question to you is, is this about you or her? Is this abotu you wanting to show her off? Is this some kind of private fantasy that will be played out in real life if she wears on somewhere? It seems, based on the statement above, that this is more about you.

Does it help her self esteem or yours? Good for you that you admire her beuaty. Tell her so. Don't make her do something to fulfill your desires. And no, I'm not being a smart allic.

In private, your wife can be as scantily clad as you and she both want. Goodness, if you make sure your back yard is private enough (tree cover and all..and your kids aren't home at the time)...you can go skinny dipping if you want..

In public, A WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY...there she needs to be very modest, as God commands, and not cause anyone to stumble and to be a good witness. I personally, wear a one piece with swim shorts. I don't like my "underwear" showing.

Your wife's body is for YOU and YOU ALONE to enjoy. Not every man on the beach.

Enjoy it on your own time, and don't encourage her to create a situation for other men to ogle.

In your personal and private pool, no. In a public place? Well the thing is, we are instructed, as Christians, not to cause our brother to stumble. You may not be a 'sick pervert', but that doesn't mean that every man who sees your wife isn't a 'sick pervert'. Nor does it mean that other men aren't going to lust after her and either start flirting with her, or turning to some other woman to satisfy the lust that you have set in their heart by encouraging your wife to wear skimpy clothing.

Me too! (Actually this year is was a two piece tankini w/shorts. )

BGone, does your wife prefer wearing more modest swimsuits? If so, that's a good thing and hopefully you'll encourage her in it now.

Think of it like this...

what your wife wears will have a great effect on what your....daughter....will wear.

Do you want men ogling your daughter?

Do you?

Just remember, your wife is someone's daughter too.

Honestly, clothing is such a matter of conscience. Guys need to have enough self control that we don't ogle everything with dual chromosomes that walks by, and women need to understand that a guy's natural impulse is to ogle. That being said, if you are in your own yard... do what you like. If you are in public, I would advise that remembering the natural male impulse is more merciful on the various guys around.

For myself, a bikini isn't that distracting. The God that put skin on the face put skin on the stomach too. However, I say this as an ex-porn addict... so I am going to have a larger bit of jaded cynicism than some who have been sheltered from the world a bit more. However, suffice it to say, most women who wear bikini's probably shouldn't... because they don't look good in them. On the other hand, bathing suits have never been known for flattering the figure.

Just my opinion, this sounds like a teenager trying to get a reaction. Read the other posts, all the same theme.
