Men's primary need is Respect, not love. When my wife shows her respect for me, especially in front of others, that encourages me to love her all the more. On the other hand, whenever she communicates disrespect to me and for me, it makes it challenges my love for her.

The one thing she did which floored me, which I can share, was early one morning, I was getting up for work. Tired, I sat on the edge of the bed trying to wake up. She spoke from behind me and said she appreciated the hard work I do for her and the family. That truly lifted my spirits and caused me to feel loved. I wish I had the intelligence to have said something at that moment, but I did not and now she will soon be gone. I was a fool. She has done other things as well, but they are private and because I still love her, I will not share those special things. Needless to say, when your wife does or says something which causes you to feel loved, don't forget to let her know how much it means to you. It's that important. Acknowledge the love.

I guess I'm not the "melting heart" kind of guy, but there are many things my wife has done - 25 years and 3 children into the jourey - that have been wonderful.

My wife for my birthday (a short while back) purchased a Redskins Clinton Portis jersey at a time when I thought we did have money for such things......(She had been secretly saving money for it for some time.) PS: I am hardcore Redskins fan......

My wife has given me many melting points. The majority of them are private simply because like most married couples we have those moments. She does pick times of surprise and I enjoy them the most. We keep grandkids pretty much Thursday-Sunday night and they sleep in our bed and I am a creature of habit hence I know on those days when I am off I take the 14 month and/or the 8 month child with me around town and on those nights well we watch TV and play with them and go to sleep. (After all they sleep between us) On those days when she really wants to hit my heart; she will wait till I am on the way home and tell me we are headed to Nashville or to a nearby state park and be all alone. That makes me melt and not just because of the romantic side. It makes me melt because I love those grandkids but I need just her at times. Times we can walk and talk. My favorite time that rocked me totally was. I had to work in the ER on my birthday and it was 7pm and I hadn’t heard from her all day, which kinda bothered me….lol, kinda was an understatement. She usually calls me several times a day. I was in a rush to count and get out. One of my coworkers told me they wanted me in the dining room for a few minutes. I waved her off. Geez,… . I had to stop by fire department on the way home and I was tired and my wife didn’t even care to call me on my birthday. After being interrupted for the 3rd time I finally had to quit what I was doing and go to the dining room just to shut them up. I was mad and when I walked through the door of the dining room I was blasting, “This better be good reason for this mess” My wife had gotten some close friends of mine and set a part of the room up for my birthday. She had both grandkids in her arms and my step daughter was all smiles. It caught me totally off guard. I have never been much on birthdays. I had to sit in a chair. Here I was mad as I walked around the corner and she had me melting in a matter of one minute. I totally lost my speech and that’s never happened before. I can’t imagine being married to anyone else. She can do what no one else has been able to do. just taking the time to read previous posts and think back to those moments makes me feel good. I am off work tonight and its Tuesday night with no grandkids; maybe I can get her a surprise and melt her. If one of the moderators read this; I apologize for my long posts. I am new at this but this site has really made me think about my wife, our marriage, family and the love God has for us. If you need to delete any of my posts, I want feel bad I will just try to make them shorter, with better content or maybe I just need to read more instead of write. Have a blessed day dave

firefighter, I don't think any moderator would think of deleting your post.

When my wife of 13 years prepares my brown bag lunch for me, I LOVE IT!!! I can make a great, perhaps even an awesome sandwich, but it is a bother to me; a bother which I was habitually doing for years as soon as I got home from work. Doing it Sunday night was the worst, because it made it seem like the weekend was already over. Then, one day I forgot to make my lunch. I was especially grungy from work and had to jump in the shower right away, then maybe had a meeting or a church thing and had to leave immediately after cleaning up...I lay in bed after the busy, dirty (a woodworker) and tiring day and groaned, "AAAAAAAAAAAAUGHHHHHHH.....I forgot to make my lunch!" She said simply that she'd done it for me and I was sooo relieved and happy! One less duty, one less obligation, one less job to do! Now, on occasion I'll intentionally jump right into the shower after work...not to take advantage of my wife's good nature, but to allow her the opportunity to simply and lovingly please me. To allow that little kiss of service to happen between us, which I treasure and always say, "Thank you baby" for...I always let her know how much I appreciate this little chore being done FOR ME!
