what did it take for you to turn to god? for me honestly , not much i mean there was bits and pieces that i put together in order to believe in a creator . and the more interested i got the more i developed sort of like a " hunger" for god and the bible . i get more interested everyday . Being young like me though only 16 years old im scared when i go out into the real world i will lose my faith . But i know god has everything planned out for me so thats what gives me that warm safe feeling . Even though i take risk on my life everyday

For me it took a lot of trial and error. Me trying what I wanted and finding out that was a serious error and I needed to focus on what God wants for me. The path of your future can only be decided by your willingness or unwillingness to live for God. You'll waste a lot of years if you're unwilling...

Its taken a lot of hurt and fear. And still, it takes a lot of trust to maintain.

When I was five years old I had a dream about Hell, after I woke up I commited my life to Christ.

I didn't grow up in a Christian home, but in I think Kindergarden or maybe I was a little older than that I said "Oh my G--" and the girl next to me said "Don't say the Lords name in vain!" and ever since then I felt that God was real. I'm sure it confused my parents to have a grade school child who insisted on going to church with her friends.

Fortunately I was a 'easy pickup' for my parents instilled early the value and responsibility of a reasonable response to my parents and God's love by their and others consist sacrifice and encourage. What did it take? Although I was 'saved' about about 10 45 years ago in VBS, looking back, I came to faith(the realization that God had a hold on me and my allegiance)much earlier. Probably 'it' was a gradual evolution and is evolving rather then a point in time.

Hello Zack_NorcalRiders Well Zack, its a matter of love that turned me to the Lord. I was invited to a home fellowship group and saw people that were filled with joy and gratitude over this guy they called Jesus. It was the love of the Lord I saw. While in the midst of this love, I came to the conclusion that I was breathing talking walking dead man. I had flesh and could think and talk but my insides were dry, lonely, and completly lifeless. It didn't take long before I accepted the Lord. I'll always remember the first morning I awoke after accepting the Lord. I was full, completed and ALIVE. You said that you feared losing your faith, since you are only sixteen. But if you will make the Lord your God, he will lift you up and build your faith. Do understand that your battle has just begun because Satan will do everything he can to tear you away from God. I would personally study the Bible and get to know it's author. Run to Him daily with the tenacity of a dirt biker running a race to win.

I had not been impressed by anyone who who claimed to be Christian since I was a tiny child. Horribly few demonstrated love, consistence, or integrity. But I remember a part of a line from an old Cynthia Clausen song: "It was His love . . . ." I don't remember another word to that song, but that was what it was. The shocking realization that He loved me. I could not resist that. I had turned to Him when I was 14, but I was 22 and eight months pregnant when I had a revelation, an understanding, a realization of His love. It was shocking. I had been stumbling along up to then, but that day, I made a commitment that went deep.

It took me about 9 months of research before giving myself to the Lord. I first read a science book ( Chaos and Harmony) and it has convince me of the existence of God then i had to know who was that God. I read a lot of testimonies on internet and then one night, on my knees i decided to ask forgiveness and gave myself to Him.

I think I was 5 when I heard his voice. Now as for being totally submitted to him -- that came more in my early thirties when after my attempts to "run" my life I realized God would do a much better job.

I first accepted Jesus when I was 5, but I wandered a lot over the years. What brought me back and deepened the commitment was taking custody of my cousin when he was 4 months old. I wanted him raised in a good church. Fortunately, I found a great one on the first try and haven't looked back since.

Constantly sinning, I realized I was really going no where with my life. Even through sinning he still loved me and that stole my heart.
