Exodus 15:6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Luke 22:69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
and
Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
57Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
58And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
60And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Verse after verse states Jesus will be sitting on the the right hand.
However, when Stephen looked into heaven before he was stoned he saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God.
What is significant about Jesus standing when Stephen looked up?
Was Jesus standing to show Stephen he was not alone and he was standing with him?

I believe you are basically correct....
It is a beautiful thing to notice because it reminds us of the active, personal interest He takes in each of us, He beloved children

I agree, Messiah is commonly referred to as the "right hand" of Yahweh. Whenever you read this it is referring to the 2nd person of the Godhead.

Maybe Jesus was standing to welcome Stephen's worship and serve in kneeling humility.

I believe Jesus was standing, ready to give orders to His angels to rescue Stephen. However, when Stephen kneeled down, and cried to the Lord asking that "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge", Jesus was greatly satisfied with His servant and brought him home.

The right hand is symbolic in connection as in a strong hand. For you might have heard that old saying "my right hand man" meaning whoever was your strong point or the strongest in fact that you could depend on and trust without a shadow of doubt. Jesus was the right hand of GOD, for he was GOD that came in the flesh to be cruxifide for our sins. Be careful of reading and responding to "playful" comments for the Bible is derived of Life and Death. Which one will you choose? as I speak to you, I speak to myself as well. Blessings are available above and beyond measure!

Maybe it was 'Jacob's Ladder'. It's remarkable how similar the heavenly realm is described in scripture probablybecause words fail to express the glory and terror.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but a possible translation of hestota (inflected form of histemi) could be "be present", thus Stephen's statement could be taken as "Son of Man "present" at the right hand of God.
That being said, not matter what it is not a primary (or even secondary) protion of Theology, and should not be a stumbling block or a point of contention for Christians.

Isn't the term "seated at the right hand of God" just a figure of speech. I don't imagine that Jesus has been spending all His time sitting around.

Yes, the term, "seated at the right hand...", indicates that Christ's redeeming work is finished.
The priests who entered the temple to offer sacrifice for sins never sat down, because their work was never finished. Whereas Christ's one sacrifice took away the sins of the world, once for all, never to see them again. And having successfully removed the sin barrier between man and God, Christ then opened the way for man to once again have life, through His resurrection. Having successfully completed His work, He sat down in His rightful place.
I have heard it explained that the reason Christ is standing in Stephen's vision is to show that He is now prepared to begin His next great work as outlined in Scripture. He is ready, He is prepared, He is more than able, but He is also patient, not wanting any to perish. And so we have this period of grace...until Christ returns and all is made right.

I believe the reason Jesus was standing when Stephen looked, is that the
Lord was recieving the first martyr for his faith in Christ. Did Jesus not say that if you deny me before men, then I will deny you before my Father in heaven? Over the centuries there have been countless millions who have lost their lives for the cause of Christ. Stephen was the first. It is by your faith that you are saved.
