I usually read mine but always contemplate hanging them up on my door afterwards, but never seem to though. I do save my cards though for years of reading afterwards.

I have a homemade garland sort of thing that hangs down one side of our archway (the stockings hang on the other side) with little clips on it that holds all the cards we get. I think I made it a couple of years ago. Before that I had a special basket that all the cards landed in. This year I'm not sure which I'll use. I do keep them tho.

Blessings,

Garsy

They get put on the walls and in the doorway from dining to living room. They stay up way past Christmas. I love getting Christmas cards!

I hang mine on doors, doorways and walls. One year, when I took down all the Christmas things, I put the cards in a basket and used them as a prompt to pray for each person in turn. I should do that again. Eventually, the ones that have something personalized in them, plus all the Christmas letters, get put into my journalling binder.

I honestly don't think I've ever gotten one addressed to myself, haha. My parents would leave them standing in the middle of the dinning room table. My office would leave them standing on the file cabinets. The studio would tape them up on the wall. I don't expect to get any this year - but if we do, we'll probably keep them on the shelf in the dinning room. I'm a saver too, I keep all the cards I've ever gotten over the years. One neat idea I hope to keep going is from my husband's grandpa: to cut them up and reuse them in your own homemade cards.

We got Christmas card hangers. We also hang them in garlands across the walls, and sit them on any free surface, (bookshelves, tables etc).

We have book shelves around the walls in our den and we hang them on them on the shelves.

There's a Christmas card exchange here in forums if you'd like to change that. Just look at the threads for community. You'll see it. Also a link in cherish405's signature.

After I read them, I put them in a basket on the coffee table or other table to sort of display. Then when I clean up Christmas, I look through them one more time, put them in a bag, label the bag with the year, and put them in a box. The next year I go through them again and usually cry. I grab the special cards (usually from people who have passed away in the last year) and put them in a special bag. The remaining cards become gift tags on presents.

I read them, then I tear them up and throw them away and pray that the sender will repent from this foolishness of celebrating a pagan holiday.

Really, I save them and put them in a scrap book. I usually cut them so that I can put the card and the inside part facing outward. That way I can see who they are from and the message inside all at once.

ecards become part of my screen saver, but I prefer real cards.

Thanx Maggie. I'm glad someone saw the humor. I was beginning to think I'd killed another thread. Is there a "Thread Killers Anonymous" that I can join?

LOL! Never looked. You could always start one. But would it last? Or would it be killed?

I do different things with them every year. One year I will place them in a card holder I have, another year I will place them in my Christmas basket. When all the Christmas stuff is packed away I put them in a zip-lock bag and label it for that year. I usually save them for a couple years and then go through them. I save the ones from close family members and toss the rest away. But now this thread gave me a good idea...think I will make gift tags out of the ones I would usually toss away

I like the idea of praying for the folks! I like to scrapbook mine too. I'm a couple of years behind though.

We have a thread killing thread here in the community lounge. Please come join those of us who have done the dirty deed of thread killing.
