I have been thinking about this for awhile since I heard the news that a Saudi Arabian man was denied a position in the police force because of his extremist views. That may look like a good thing but the reasoning behind this could be a precursor to a mass persecution of anybody who has solid view on something- including evangelical Christians. Let me explain. Here is something I observed in the world scene. There are two ideologies battling in the world today. There are two sides that are very intolerant. 1) The postmodern west which tries to represent tolerance but is actually intolerant. They are relativists. In Canada, I heard that Christians are not allowed to speak against the homosexual agenda (this could be exaggerated but even in mild form this sets a precedent). Just go around blogs and you will see how intolerant westerners can be. 2) Islamic extremism which would do anything to destroy the postmodern west. They have people willing to die for the purpose of imposing Islamic law on the whole world. They vehemently persucute Christians. These two sides can't coexist. This is my warning. I foresee the day when the postmodern west would not only wield its sword against Islamic extremists who commit crimes against humanity, but also wield its sword against those with "extremist" ideas. When Christians stand up against anything, I am afraid that someday the postmoders west would also wield its sword against Christians who have strong ideas about things. We would be persecuted alongside those that we also have spoken strongly against. Ultimately, we can't do anything about it. We must pray for God's grace to endure what is going to happen. Also, right now while there is not yet massive persecution, we must be very careful not to take sides in this battle. God is holy and merciful and does not approve of either side. God stands for himself and we must stand with him. Christian tolerance is showing mercy to sinners while speaking out against sin. May we be a beacon of true tolerance in an intolerant world.

I agree, refpil. I put a post earlier on a different thread - the one about bombing other countries - but I have noticed that the leading elite have no ability to discern the difference between people who are alienated (everyone outside of Christ, including violent jihadists), and believers in Christ who are pilgrims passing through this foreign land to their true home and country - heaven. Unbelievers are alienated from everything: God, self, others, and nature. Believers are firmly attached to all that is real and eternal. Because our leading elite are alienated themselves from the light - as Jesus is the light of the world and the only light of the world - because they are alienated themselves and walk around in the darkness, so to speak, they can't distinguish between the two. God bless abundantly in Christ, Galadriel

Think of what will haven should the libs be able to reinstate the Fairness Doctine. A Christian radio station that carries a show that teaches against the gay livestyle and promotes absintence for teens will be forced to give equal time to those holding oposing views.
