So, I'm just putting this out there... asking anyone who might know.

The left side of my inner labia is still messed up (doesn't look bad, but it's not the way it was before everything). The outer labia is as well, but not as badly. The doctors still don't know what to do, but I'm tired of being this way. Since Oct. 2006 I haven't been the same, and I'm rather tired of not being able to wash or wipe that side...or sit down or walk for long. (I have diseases that mess that up anyway [vulvodynia and IC], but the lack of healing from the surgery makes it worse on top of those.) No meds really help; doctors have no solution except to wait some more. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are herbs for such things OR treatment that might help. The inner labia is swollen, tender and sensitive-- has been since the surgery. I can't touch that at all; the outer labia is sensitive, and the closer I get to the incision site, the less I'm able to touch it (closer I get to the point where they cut/removed, the more sensitive/swollen/tender it is). The outer isn't as bad as the inner though. It was worse immediately following surgery...I was swollen on that side from my abdomen to my rear...couldsn't sit or walk for a month or so. Some swelling did leave, but after six wks post-op, I never healed anymore.

TIA

Maybe you could go see a homeopathic doctor and ask him/her for advice?

Another possibility is to call a midwifery centre for some advice. The midwives around here carry herbs that you add to the bath after you have a child, and they help heal things faster (such as episiotomies, etc).

Have you tried a few drops of iodine in your bath water?
Just use as a sitz bath, no soap or anything but warm water and the iodine.
I had rectal surgery that didn't want to heal and the doc recommended it.
It worked.

I haven't tried any of the suggestions. I may try some iodine when I can get my hands one some. If that doesn't work, I'll try contacting another kind of medical professional.

Hi Solo,

I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions but I wanted to let you know about an article that was published here the other day. I don't know if it's any help but I thought you may be interested in reading it.

When I had MRSA and had multiple holes in my body that wouldn't heal, my doc finally suggested Hyperbaric Chamber treatment. Guess what? I started healing. Didn't have to expose the wound or anything they like. You walk in, there's a bed if you want to rest, a nice Lazy Boy to sit in, you can read, whatever. I had several treatments and it got better rather quickly. Much more quickly than any of the meds I was taking; antibiotics and anti inflamatories. Might be worth asking about.
