I know it's early for Christmas yet, but Trans-Siberian Orchestra is already two weeks into their annual tour, and I'm looking forward to seeing them twice again this year, one group in Atlanta on 11/16 and the other in Knoxville TN on 12/22. Any other TSO fans around these parts?

I'm going to see them on the 29th of this month in Philadelphia. I can't wait. I hope they play Carol of the Bells and Christmas Eve/Sarajevo. Those are my favorites. Takfam, how was the show?

I've been a fan since The Christmas Attic aired on PBS. I only wish I could afford the price of a ticket. But even the $44 nose-bleed seats are out of the question at this point.

Read an interesting article about the guy behind TSO the other day. He said that he refuses to raise ticket prices this year, even though the economy is sagging. In fact, he is adding more lights and pyrotechnics to the show. He also asked the promoters to pinpoint which markets were hurting the most and he would offer tickets for four people for $100. http://www.heraldextra.com/content/view/288455/3/ I'm looking forward to seeing the light show the TSO puts on - they say it's like "Pink Floyd on steroids." This year's lighting rig is supposed to be like a Transformer - the lighting rig will lower to the ground and pick up the musicians and move them around. My wife, daughter, and I will be at the Houston show.

Hmmm, at the end of that article they give the ticket prices as $39.50 to $49.50. Up here the cheapest seats are $44, the floor seats are $59. That's interesting. I always thought everybody paid the same for tickets. Of course it's "New York" (not really, it's about 30 mi. west of NYC in NJ), so it's gotta be more expensive. Bull!

The Atlanta show was incredible, even bigger than last year's show (and that's saying quite a bit!) I'm looking forward to seeing the other TSO touring group in Knoxville on Dec 22....

Could be that different promoters are covering different areas of the country. Facility and labor expenses are certainly different in NYC vs the mid west. -Dan.

I'm a big fan of theirs. I went to one of their shows last year. They're oodles of fun. And I think that they really enjoy what they do, which is great. A lot of musicians seem to like performing because of the paycheck - they seem to like performing because they're performing.
