I was watching the movie "Elmer Gantry," which was a movie that was made in the early 50's which starred Burt Lancaster and Shirley Jones. Gantry who was an evanglist wanted to turn the church upside down by bringing people in the church, but he was also corrupted by money and unmoral behavior.

Do you see a comparision of this movie and how our christian leaders behave in today's church?

I think so because the movie is played out when you see headlines of our leaders whose money and power corrupt people. Then again, there are Elmer Gantrys who pimp the public daily--look at Christian televison, for example.

Maybe it shouldn't be, but that is one of my favorite movies.

I think there was a lot of facts behind the making of it.
But, movie wise, I liked it.

What it portrayed makes me sick and still does.
