Hi Everyone I am starting a thread where we can recommend favorite video series, Bible Study series and weekend conferences that have enriched and helped our marriages. (Mods-can we include books? Or does that need to be in the books section?) I"ll start: Two thumbs up for Love and Respect video series by Emerson Eggerich Weekend To Remember Conference by Family Life Today

Song of Solomon Study by Tommy Nelson. We have participated in it individually before we were married (there is great pre-marital applilcation) and we have participated twice after that, leading it once. We will actually be leading it in another small group setting come the first of the year. We had a lot of positive comments from the couples that participated, because they always wanted to study it, and wanted to talk about certain aspect of their marriage and seek counsel from God's word and other believers about those delicate areas of conversations that not all believers are comfortable talking about. We developed very strong bonds among those that participated and became accountability for each other.

Love and Respect are tremendous. So are Marriage Encounter weekends; attending one of these saved my marriage. I didn't realize it but there were things in my marriage that were like festering sores increasingly pumping toxic stuff into our marriage; you know, things you just don't touch. At the Marriage Encounter weekend we learned to communicate on these touchy subjects and begin working through them. Another excellent resourse are the Boundaries books by Cloud and Townsend; these too helped my marriage tremendously.

I'm with you on the "Love and Respect" series. Our church is repeating it again this year...It's that good! Beth Moore's series are always excellent. Lifetoday.org has her study videos to view online. Right now, I'm doing a study with our daughter. It's John Ortberg's, "If You Want to Walk On Water, You've Got To GET OUT OF THE BOAT." It's an short study (6 wks.) and the videos are only 15 min. long. I prefer Beth's Moore's, over Ortbergs. But, DD is a young in Christ..and a busy mother with job and family. She is still got allot of fear to deal with, and a pit or two to climb out of. This study is just what she needs. And she is applying what she's learned. This has been an answer to a long going prayer.

I think all of the titles listed are great ones. I'd like to add a fairly new resource called, "Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage" by Mark Gungor. It's available as a seminar you can buy for home use, or you can buy the leader's guide with the DVDs edited into video clips for a classroom setting. He's funny, and he does a great job of dealing tough with pornography. He's a breath of fresh air and laughter. His material is available at http://www.laughyourway.com/ Vickie
