My husband was completely grossed out tonight because I insisted on having mustard with a big soft warm pretzel--yum! I've always eaten pretzels with mustard of some sort or sometimes melted cheese. You?

While I think mustard is one of the most disgusting things out there I know it is very popular on soft pretzels. I've even eaten soft pretzels that have a bit of a mustard taste to them like the dough is made with a little mustard. However, that is just my personal taste and what you did is perfectly normal.

Hmmm, well I'm in the UK and I have only ever known crispy salted pretzels, didn't know there were any other types.

Here's a website of a company that makes them. They are popular snack sold at sporting events, carnivals, fairs, street venders in cities, etc. In the Philadelphia area you can find people along the side of the street with them in their bags and they will come to your car with them at red lights.

Where I live a popular thing is pretzel sandwhiches, they take a big soft pretzel: it's round like a roll without the "holes" and they slice it open and make deli sandwhiches on them. I had my first one this spring and they are good. It's a popular fundraiser around here to sell pretzel sandwhiches. You can even buy the pretzel rolls at the grocery store.

I think Bobby Flay did a pretzel throwdown. He made a cheese dip.

Here's another popular company that you can find in mall food courts. I love their pretzel dogs

I don't like Auntie Anne's as much as some other companies. Their pretzels are as...chewy...I think. They're more bread-y? I don't know how to describe it. I have seen those pretzel sandwiches, though, but I've never eaten one.

I'm tempted to mail you a big warm chewy one, but by the time it got to you it would be too hard to eat.

My favorite is an Auntie Anne's Cinnamon Sugar pretzel! Can't go to the mall and leave without one!

Me thinks I need to try making my own soft pretzels. I have a recipe.

I don't like crunchy hard pretzels at all - but the rest of the family does.

Blessings,

Garsy

I like salted/unsalted with/without mustard, sweet and spicy pretzels. One of my favorites is parmesan cheese flavor. I will not eat an old and unfresh pretzel, you know the ones that have been sitting in the warming box for hours and hours.

I like them soft, salted and dipped in either cheese or mustard... I got a salty tooth instead of a sweet tooth.

I like them with mustard.

I love just about any kind of pretzel. The big soft ones are the only thing I'll eat yellow mustard on. Cheese is good, too. I love Snyder's Sourdough pretzels. They're super hard, and have a unique flavor. They used to load them with salt, but for the past few years they've gone the opposite and barely salt them at all. My favorites, though, are Mr. Salty pretzel sticks. I don't think they make them any more. There's a product with the same name, but they're about four time as thick as the ones I loved as a kid.

There is one thing wong in your poll, though. Unslated pretzels should be against the law.

I love pretzels.
We've made soft pretzels from scratch before. It isn't much more difficult than making bread from scratch. Alton Brown has a good recipe on the food network website.
I like soft pretzels salted or dipped in melted cheese, although I know plenty of people who make them with mustard. For hard pretzels, I like Snyder's pretzel knobs dipped in garlic ranch dressing.

I also like my pretzels soft and warm with either mustard or cheese. I've also had other variations like cinnamon and sugar, blueberry, and garlic (not together, of course!).

That's the only pretzels I've ever known too.

I've never had a sweet pretzel.

I would think that making them would be sort of like making bagels...since they have that sort of chewy texture. And to me, who doesn't cook, that sounds hard!

Oooh, warm soft pretzels dipped in cheese sauce are so good! Once in a great while we will make them from scratch, kinda a Sunday evening family thing. My brother-in-law prefers mustard over the cheese. Also hard pretzels & cheese or cream cheese are one of the best snacks IMO.

Ohhhh, I love me some pretzels. I even like to dip the regular crispy ones in mustard at home. I really like Auntie Anne's parmesan herb pretzel. No dip needed. Yum.

I looove soft pretzels. I like them salted. I used to get some from the mall with this honey dip. So yummy... sweet and salty combo.

I like crunchy pretzels ok, mostly the big sourdough ones.
