Hey, I have been considering getting a tattoo for a long time. I think I have finally decided where I will get it and what it will be.

First, I want my daughters first name tattooed on my right hand ring finger.

Second, I want John 3:16 the entire verse under my forearm.

Anyone got pics to share of their tats?

Eventually I'd like to get a couple tatoos. Both would be in a place that I could easily cover, since my family is pretty conservative and would not approve!

First one I want is a 26.2. That is the distance of a marathon. I've run 6 so far. As soon as I qualify for Boston (I need a 3:50), I'll get the tatoo.

Second one I want is a "M-dot". That is the Ironman logo. This past season was my first full triathlon season. I've done 2 sprints, 1 olympic, and 1 half Ironman. Once I do a full Ironman, I'll get the M-dot.

I have one on my lower back. It's a butterfly. I had it done during the time that I was coming out of a dark period in my life, and I was finally feeling good about myself. I spent so much time feeling trapped in a dark coccoon then when I came out of it, I felt like a butterfly...free and beautiful.

I'll post a picture, but it probably won't be a good idea. LOL. It's on my lower back right below my waist.

Wow, that is a pretty meaningful tattoo. Good to hear.

Interesting. Like a sports tattoo.

Wow, his chosen, that sounds pretty cool. Though I am pretty sure I'm not getting another one, if I ever qualify for the Boston marathon, I'm sure I'll change my mind.

When do you have in mind? My goal is to BQ within 4 years.

Ever thought of doing Pikes Peak? It rocks. It's in Colorado. THat's the marathon of all marathons. I've hiked it, and it's pretty brutal. But I loved every minute on the trail.

prairie--I need a 3:50. At Columbus '06 I got a 3:53. That's the closest I've come. I am hoping with decent training over the winter I'll nail Athens (Ohio!) in April. It's the perfect race to do it. I had some problems in '07, otherwise I would have nailed it.

Ok, I'll cheer you on! Hope you qualify soon. I'm nowhere near that right now because of the injuries that I suffered. A couple of years ago, I would have BQed. But right now, my sights are just on the Pikes Peak marathon, and I won't start thinking of any of the big ones until I've done this one. This is in my "bucket list".
