I want to share this isolated news story that broadcasted last night on a Montanan TV station. It will go no further, for it has not been put on the wire, without effort. Our freedom of religion and freedom of speech are under more fire because of this election. The following two links are the story on the TV station site and the contact info. for the church pastor that the story concerns. I regret that I have no way at present to provide a photo of the sign. The Story There is much important food for discussion here. Sincerely, KarenB P.S. - My purpose in posting this is because I passionately believe that I should inform people as much as I can about things like this. Therefore, do not expect me to be here to debate the matter. Sincerely to my CW friends, KarenB

Interesting. If this sign went up after the election, one could argue that no IRS violation could have possibbly occurred because Obama was not a candidate after the election was over. He is not even the "President-elect " yet, which occurs when the Electoral College meets in December. Perhaps his status currently is "President-select".

The sign doesn't even say anything about Obama. "Abomination" is a biblical word (KJV, I believe). Is it "partisan" to use a word that happens to sound a lot like "Obama"? Granted, the pastor is vocal about his dislike of Obama, but just taking the sign at face value, I don't see why it's partisan. It's similar to putting something like, "America Deserves God's Judgment" on the sign.

I would just note that the story doesn't say the church has actually been contacted by the IRS, or even that anyone has complained. The sign has 'caused a stir' and the church 'could find itself in trouble'. I think the reporter was just trying to add some spice by adding the stuff about the IRS. It's true, but so far it doesn't seem to be relevant.

RE Our Bill of Rights or Bi-partisanship quote:
ORIGINAL: KarenB Here is an update. If you have RealMedia, you can listen to this interview of this pastor. Here This is worth listening to. Abominations are the cultural pet projects of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UNESCO United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations established on November 16, 1945. Its stated purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, the rule of law, and the human rights and fundamental freedoms proclaimed in the UN Charter. =(NOT THE US CONSTITUTION)….[1] It is the heir of the League of Nations' International Commission on Intellectual Cooperation . What that means is the dummies have no clue what’s going on Well the pastor who hung the sign has a point… but it’s not just the USA Punch up this site http://www.cbn.com/media/index.aspx?s=/archive/club/700club110508 and then In the Search Media box at the lower right…type in… Missionaries leaving The USA is not the only one… the major problem is under cover and is called UNESCO http://www.thescarletpimpernel.info/2008/09/bolivia-us-ambassador-expelled-for.html Bolivia: U.S. Ambassador Expelled for Allegedly Supporting Violent Opposition Written by Franz Chávez Thursday, 11 September 2008 (IPS) - Bolivian President Evo Morales has declared U.S. Ambassador to La Paz Philip Goldberg "persona non grata", after accusing him of aiding and abetting pro-autonomy opposition groups that are blocking highways and occupying government buildings, reducing the supply of natural gas to Brazil. "I am not afraid of anyone, not even the empire (the United States)," Morales said Wednesday afternoon at the presidential palace when he instructed Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca to inform the U.S. ambassador in writing that he was no longer welcome in the country "It is unprecedented for a head of state to announce a declaration of "persona non grata," although this must be looked at within the context of the deteriorated diplomatic relations," former Foreign Minister Armando Loaiza told IPS. Over the past year, the leftwing Morales administration has accused the U.S. embassy in Bolivia of offering its backing to departmental (provincial) governments in Santa Cruz, Beni, Pando, Tarija and Chuquisaca in their crusade for radical autonomy. In this case the words "radical autonomy" = anti... abortion and homosexuality LG
