I posted earlier about a birthday gift for my boyfriend. I am having doubts about that. I was thinking he loves to cook- getting him a gift basket with skewers, sauces etc.... he has a favorite scripture Isaiah 41:10 thinking of how to incorporate that. Do you guys have any suggestions? this would be my first birthday gift to him. I want it to be personal and special.

It's really hard to suggest something when we don't know the person. If you know him well enough to be sure that what you are getting will be useful and he doesn't have it, then the gift basket sounds like a good idea...maybe you could include in it things like framed pictures of the two of you together or other little items that remind you of times you have spent together. If you are artistic, you could hand-letter the verse on a picture of a right hand and frame it.
I had flowers delivered to one man I dated on his birthday (chose flowers that were not too frilly--vase was constructed of wood and chickenwire)...may not sound like something a guy would like, but I wanted to give him something that no one else ever had...and he loved them
BTW, you may want to change the title of your thread to something that suggests you are wanting gift suggestions...it might get more attention.

Well, does he like sports? Because there's always framed portaits you can get him of special/historical events. Like of touchdowns, homeruns, whatever he's into. There's always tickets to a ball game.
Another idea is magazine subscriptions (Sports Ill., Golf Digest, Men's Health, GQ).
Everyone likes a full body massage. Or his car washed and detailed.
Those are some things I'd like.

I always like to ask random questions, your best bet is to see what he needs, a cook might have enough cooking stuff, and people who collect things eventually get sick of always getting that item. like my poor mom and her 500 gingerbread men army. your best bet is to see if there is anything they need. if you wanna be unique and creative make them a card, buy theri favorite candy, and than get a gift ill get back to more ideas here- anyway, buy a plain colored bag and get some of that tissue paper, decorate the bag with your own message, and put gift in bag than take candy and make sure u get a individually wrapped candy and just throw a mess in there like an Easter basket!
Back to gift ides- look around his house, room, or appartment- are the walls oddly sparse? than id go with some art work that fits them of course
Do the love music but lack an mp3 player- who wouldnt want a ipod?
if they got an ipod ituens cards are good idea
framed rare sports artwork like someone else said is always good
also, just kinda hint around as to what he might want- usualy guys dont know what they want though-lol
