Good Monday Morning Everyone Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I enjoyed the family comeing home. (My girls even helped with the dishes this year) Glad that my guys are all home, and safe and sound. But goodness..did they bring back the laundry for me. LOL We have more snow again. About 5" this time. It started yesterday afternoon, and it's still comeing down. Their is a two hour delay with our school this morning. So Cody is sleeping in. Hubby had no problem getting out of the driveway. But he does have his 4-wheel drive pick-up now. I got my Christmas tree put up in the liveingroom yesterday. Also got some of the decorations put up outside, before the snow came in. I hav'ent decorated the inside yet. But I will get that done this week. Just gonna take my time doing it. I bought myself one of them revolving tree stands this year. So now my new tree goes around. It's so cool! I bought this tree last year, after Christmas. Only paid $35 for it at Menards. And the best part is it's all decorated. Did'ent have to do anything but put the new stand on it, and set it up. It's decorated with white lights, flocked with white "snow", has white ornaments, white pine cones, and silver branches, with white pointsetta (sp?) flowers in it. Everything is glued on it already. I just bought some purple ornaments to put on it, for alittle color. Also got some Christmas shopping done this week-end. Found some great sales for childrens clothing. So now I think I'm done with the grandkids. Next I start with my children.

Good morning, Barb . . . I like your new avatar We had a good Thanksgiving, in spite of me being sick . . spent part of it in bed. The youngest granddaughter came back home with me and we had a good time together until Sunday when she went back home, riding with her other grandma who was going back up to their house for something they're all going to tonight. We sure missed John & Heather being here, but he called that night, so that helped. Saturday night we went to my youngest brother's 50th birthday party . . that just doesn't seem possible. In fact, it was also a party for one of my nieces whose 50th birthday was in September. My brother's birthday is actually on December 24th, but that is such a hard time for ppl to go to a party for him, so they chose to celebate it early this year. It was a good evening, tho quite chilly outside, and most ppl were outside. They had a couple of big bonfires going, and even a tent or two set up, so it wasn't so bad. We didn't stay late as I was still getting over my sinusitis, and Bill said he felt like he was getting it also (tho it turns out he wasn't). Besides, as much as I like being with my family, those gatherings are usually drinking affairs, and we don't drink, so after a while we just don't seem to fit in. Barb, your tree sounds very pretty. The closest I've come to a 'pre-decorated' tree is the prelit one I bought about 4 years ago. The lights only lasted one year, and it was very frustrating to have it gone that quickly. Anyway, I don't have anything out yet but the Bethlehem village displayed in my bay window. Garrett is playing with that right now and promises to keep it 'dis-arranged' for me this season . . . . I'll be getting the rest of it up this week sometime, tho might ask a friend out to help me with it. Guess it's time to watch for the bus & get him off to school . . I've been shopping over the net, and will continue to do that until it's all finished. In fact, I've got it all just about done -- mostly at JC Penney's, and will probably order that today.

Lots of good deals out there Leah? It is cyber Monday.... Thanks for the new thread Barb. Saturday my oldest and I went shopping for shoes. We ended up coming home with a Christmas tree. Normally we have an artificial tree, but she wanted a real one. We went by Lowe's to see how much they were, ended up getting out to look, and buying one. This is her last Christmas that she'll be at home much likely, so hopefully she'll have good memories. I don't feel like I had a real Thanksgiving, but that's OK. About 3 weeks ago we had Thanksgiving at my moms. Then Wednesday we went to my folks again for something, and my mom made a nice supper. Last night I had a turkey and had my folks up. My oldest is telling everyone that she had 4 Thanksgivings--the three I just mentioned, and one working at the nursing home on Thanksgiving day. Dee

I haven't gotten started on Christmas decorating yet. Didn't do much for Thanksgiving either. We had it at my daughter's house with all the kids bringing something towards it. My son roasted the Turkey, my daughter the sweet potato casserole, my DIL the pies, etc. Plenty of food and all of it good. My memory is bad it always is after getting shock therapy. My oldest son and his daughter lives with us and fed my husband while I was gone. I got fired from work before I went to the hospital. I applied for unemployment before I left too but now I don't know what my PIN is as I forgot it while I was gone. The house needs a lot of cleaning. And no way have I got anything started for Christmas.

Good morning, ladies. Momma-Mo, it is good to hear you had a good weekend with hubby, and that things are looking so much better. I'll join my prayers with Barb's that it all continues. And I'm sure Benjamin will be very appreciative of the new home! But hey, chickens can be pets! Tho you might need to look for some of those chicken diapers -- and if you find them, send Maggie a couple -- might just work for the iguana, who knows . . . can't imagine anyone ever successfully training either of those critters Dee, good to see you in here . . . yes there were some good deals, and I placed my order with Penney's yesterday, which just about completed my Christmas shopping for the family -- almost! Ginny, you know I'm prayng for you . . and I'm also looking forward to our lunch today . . . . BTW, ladies, Ginny started getting some of her memory back last night, so things are looking a bit brighter this morning. I'm going to go pick her up after I get Garrett on the bus, we'll go have lunch and go to Walmart to pick up some items I need. Yeah, Barb, there really is nothing like the feeling of holding a sleeping baby in your arms -- especially your grandbaby . . . that's cute about Ethan -- they do have their way of letting Gramma know they need attention too. I'm glad you got your decorations up. I guess I won't get my started today, but will get them done this week somehow. Guess I better go & get busy here.

Hi all! Spent the morning putting more items on e-Bay. Hope to get a lot of business for Christmas. I also bought a couple of things on auction for the kids. I'm really tired the last two days....anyone else going through this? I hope to get more into the storage unit when I go to get hubby's prescription. I really need to get the tree up. This is really late for us! It's a good thing Mom has one downstairs. Well, have a great day. I'm praying for everyone that needs a physical touch from the Lord. Thanks all for your prayers! Blessings!

Thanks for the hugs and prayers. Linda came and visited me today. She took me to Wal Mart. I got my groceries she got hers. Bought Christmas paper. I had totally ran out from last year. It does add up to buy tape, tissue, name tags, bows, and paper. Tomorrow I am going to get all my presents together and get them organized and wrapped. Linda and and I had a great time visiting. She brings me down to earth and helps me think simpler. As she said I tend to over analyze things. My daughter was at the house when we got back so she met her. Said she was a pretty girl. Guess that means I am pretty too as everyone tells me she looks just like me. Hubby was happy. I bought grits, bacon, a very big container of pancake mix and a hugh thing of syrup. My kids and hubby are always asking for more breakfasts. Then before my daughter left, my pastor and another man from my church came by for a visit. Hubby doesn't go to church so I was glad they came by. Tomorrow I will work on some cleaning too. Haven't decided on the bathroom or the kitchen. Maybe I will work a little in both. The bathroom sink needs scrubbing and the frig smells. Saw a church lady in the store and she is going to get together with me next week to start helping me get my home in order. Ginny

(I've just been reading Ginny's posts here this week so far but I do plan to go back and read everyone else's posts when I get a chance. I was out for 12 hours today, with no internet connection so there's lots to catch up on and I'm so tired.)

Good morning, everyone! Good to see some posting in here already this morning. Barb, you guys sure have gotten a lot of snow already! Sheesh! . . . we may get some more later tonight. We got a thin layer Sunday that stayed on until yesterday . . it looked pretty, even tho it didn't cover the ground completely. Yes, Ginny & I did have a great time yesterday, tho it was too short. We both got lots of shopping done at Walmart and I even got the car serviced. It was good to spend time with you, Ginny Today a friend from church is coming out to help me decorate, so guess I better get off my duff and get things ready . . besides, Garrett is throwign a little hissy fit in the floor -- think he lost a car under the entertainment center and is getting all upset about it . . . . . also, it smells suspiciously like his bottom is needing attention -- in more ways than one!

I am already overstressed. Too much on my plate. I told Dave last night that if I was a person given to suicidal thoughts I would seriously be considering doing so. My bankruptcy got discharged November 12th except for one creditor who is taking me back to court in January. My student loans are up to $60,000. I have no job nor a prospect for one. I have no idea how I am going to get my unemployment worked out and my student loans were in forbearance while the bankruptcy was in proceedings now they are being reviewed to see if I am going to have to pay all the backed up interest of which I have no way to do so. There is a ton of things that are behind in my home. My oldest who is 30 is still living with us and who has created a mess on my carport and in his area plus what he leaves in our main area. He has never liked me. No that is not right. He and I bucked heads when my 15 year old became pregnant. He is only 2 years older than her and it was hard on him. He felt I made some comments to him that were inappropriate and never forgave me. He hold grudges for other things as well. It is so hard to be rejected by him especially when he wants special consideration in having my home to live in and mess up. Barb, I am going to follow your example in making plans for doing things but not today. I am not up to it. Actually, I miss the Behavioral Institute. There they worked to make your life easier. Here at home I face all the problems and they are still overwhelming. The electric shock treatments really do help. Maggie, have you caught up in your reading. I miss our discussions on MSN. Wondered why you hadn't been on lately. Now do I work on cleaning the kitchen some today or do I get the gifts together and wrap them. I bought all that Christmas wrapping stuff yesterday. It would be nice to get that out of the way and know I have people taken care of. What do you buy for a 16 year old girlfriend of your son's? She is a athletic. Ginny

Barb, That's perfect. I have an ornament my daughter wanted I can give. And a book on how to make homemade lotions. Those would be perfect for a teenage girl. Thanks for the suggestions.

Good morning all! How is everyone? I'm sleepy. It's cloudy and brrrr out. I need to check the weather and see if there is snow coming. Feels and looks like it. {{{{{{{Ginny}}}}}}} God bless you! Praying for you! I'm trying to get ready for Christmas, but my busyness keeps getting in the way. DD2 and I were at the store yesterday. Still praying about it. I'm still trying to work out the schooling the kids part of having a store. In the meantime the owner has started to become very attached to us and depends on us. I'm seeing it as more of a ministry...a God thing...now. I don't know how this will play out, but I see God has different plans than I do. Benjamin is enjoying his new diet. On another forum a lady suggested that we add veggies to the corn and bird seed. We are now putting little pieces of bread, carrot shavings, and small pieces of lettuce into his food. He especially loves the bread. We are also giving him fresh water several times a day as it's been freezing in the bowls rather quickly. He's a spoiled rooster, no question about it. I loaded a lot of items onto e-bay yesterday. I need to put more on though. I put an Elvis movie on that I suspect will generate a bidding war. Gotta take the teens to the orthodontist this afternoon. Next year starts my son's braces experience. Have a great day all! Blessings!
