Someone loose a CD? "My name is Jeff and I work for the State of Kentucky down in Louisville... I was working one day down in the dumpsters area cleaning up all the trash on the ground & outside of the dumpsters where all the trash goes after each big show that comes in down here in Louisville. I was cleaning & spotted some Christian CD's in the trash, But I found them all & cleaned them off and took them home with me and listened to all of them. For years I have been running from Lord, this song (Answer for the Lost) in the trash "reached out" and it touched my sinner's heart & I cried out to the Jesus... I went to my Moms & Dads church, and after church my baby-brother prayed with me & I gave my whole life to the Lord Jesus on 9-21-08... I thank the Lord for helping me find your CD & for the song (Answer for the Lost) "that helped me get back home" .. Let it be known, If this is what happens, I pray more of my CDs make it to the trash! THANK GOD FOR THE NATIONAL QUARTET CONVENTION!!!!

Wow! That reminds me of a story of an evangelist I heard one day, he was at a baseball stadium and saw someone throw down something he picked it up and it was a gospel track. He stuck it in his coat pocket and forgot about it. One day when he was at the end of his rope and considering suicide, he found the track, read it and gave his heart to Jesus. He went on to become a preacher and preached for almost 40 years before his death. We never know what or how the Lord will use what we do. We often get focused on what we think the results should be and how we think it should be done. But I believe in heaven we may be surprised at things God has used for His glory that we thought were useless or foolish.

That is an amazing and beautiful story Dan thanks for posting it. The Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways don't He?

That reminds me of an incident that happened to me almost eight years ago. Someone broke into my vehicles at my house. They stole my speakers from my truck, tried to steal my CD player but couldn't figure out how to flip the face around, and a CD case. They also stole another CD case from one of the other vehicles. To their surprise both CD's were full of nothing but southern gospel!!! No one ever caught the people that did it. but on a high note no one ever found the CD cases and reported them either. I pray that whoever stole them got the chance to listen to them....hey, maybe better yet the CD's that they found at NQC were mine making their way across the country saving one at a time!!! NOW THAT WOULD BE COOL!!! On a side note...those people that broke into my vehicles were mighty brave seeing as how I'm a cop and was at home asleep when it happened. If they only knew the amount of gun powder in my home they would have probably reconsidered...but then I wouldn't have that cool story, huh?

Another story of God's mysterious ways. In early 2000 we were working on putting things together for my book to be published. I had sent a number of poems by email to a friend to proof read and give me some feedback. She had printed them all out to go over that night. Before she had a chance to start her doorbell rang. It was a friend that was returning some items she had borrowed from Jean. When Jean has started to the door, she had laid one of the poems down on the counter near the door. Jean asked Carol if she could get her some tea or something and Carol agreed. In a few minutes Jean came back and Carol looked upset and said she had to go. Jean did some chores and then went back to look at the work I had sent her. She realized she couldn't find the poem she had when Carol came to the door. She told me that when we talked later than night and was laughing about 'old age getting the best of her' cause she could not remember what she did with it, it wasn't where she thought she had put it. The next day Jean called me crying, it took a few minutes to understand what she was saying. But it seems Carol had been on a mission the day before to 'clear up the loose ends' in her life and then to commit suicide. The poem Jean had laid down was called 'Trust Me With Your Past' and Carol had picked it up when Jean went out of the room. She later told Jean, 'it was my life, it described everything I thought and felt'. She went home but couldn't take the pills she had. About 10 pm she called a friend whose husband was a pastor, they told her come over now when they heard the upset tone of her voice. Sometime around midnight Carol accepted the Lord. She called Jean early the next morning to share how the poem she left laying on the counter told her story but also reminded her of her praying grandparents and parents. When Jean called me I could not believe that something written from my own life had that impact on someone else. When I read Dan's posting this morning the same joy and wonder reminded me that God does such miraculous things all around us!!! >>edited to correct my horrible typing

By the way, it was nice meeting you at NQC this year. God Bless. Thanks Santa! I have submitted news, but for some reason, our news isn't news anymore. And we have added a baritone singer, for anyone who might be interested. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE : KEETONS NAME BARITONE SINGER. RUSH, KENTUCKY - OCT 7TH 2008 After searching for several weeks, The Keetons (Dan Keeton Quartet) have named Jim Sheldon from Danville, KY. as their new baritone singer. Jim is a native of New Orleans, LA. He has performed previously with The Solid Rock Quartet, The Cokers and Calvary's Hill Quartet. "After such an extensive search, it's refreshing to find someone with a heart like Jim. We've tried him out on the folks and people have over-whelming approved! We are honored to have him with The Keetons." Good Evening everyone Dan
