Is denying God different from denying the holy spirit? Scripticul support?

God(Jehovah)is; God is not, not. Denial isn't appropriate. 'And God said to Noah, "I have determined to make an end of all flesh for the earth is filled with violence because of them; now I am going to destroy them along with the earth.'(Genesis 6:13) One can deny something 'til death but that doesn't mean it's any less true.

2Corithians 10:6-'We are ready to punish every disobedience when your obedience is complete. 7 Look at what is before your eyes. If you are confident that you belong to Christ, remind yourself of this, that just as you belong to Christ, so also do we. 8 Now, even if I boast a little too much of our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for tearing you down, I will not be ashamed of it.' The HS is indeed as sure for denial of the personality of conviction and is the telling point between obedience.'

The Holy Spirit reveals the things of God to us so to deny the Holy Spirit is to deny God.

Scriptural evidence - please see link:

Holy Spirit

Hello Saire

You might take a look at Psalm 139. Study it closely. It will tell you that there is a hound-of-heaven form which no person can get aways from.

Now, God reads the heart. So, you tell yourself what you see. Do you see a person that is trying to decide if there is a God? Or has your heart determined without a shadow of doubt that there is no God?

If you really want to know, I tell you a fool proof way to find out. Go to some private place and pray this prayer, "God, if you are there show me."

I agree with Little_1.

"...If we love one another, God resides in us (the Holy Spirit), and his love is perfected in us."
Taken from 1 John 4:12...(I inserted the name of God to help clarify the verse).

So like Little_1 said, "to deny the Holy Spirit is to deny God.

Just edited to bring this verse to you:

But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back for yourself part of the proceeds from the sale of the land? Before it was sold, did it not belong to you? And when it was sold, was the money not at your disposal? How have you thought up this deed in your heart? You have not lied to people but to God!”
Acts 5:3-4

Yes denying God is the same as denying the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God.

R2008,

Thankfully, God is forgiving and merciful. He died on the cross because he knew we would sin. How many of us as children thought, at some point or another, that we hated our parents or grandparents? We were probably angry about something and said it or thought it out of anger. I know that my parents couldn't have loved me any less for saying such a thing and I wouldn't love my daughter any less if she said she hated me. It would hurt and disappoint me for a while, but I would never turn my back on her because I love her unconditionally. I wholeheartedly believe that this is how God, our as heavenly father, would feel. Afterall, we are his children. We are his flesh and blood, as he created us in his image. He would never turn his back on us and we can have peace of mind because he has told us this through the written word. So, repent and forget because your heavenly father would never dream of outcasting you for any reason, so long as you tell him you were wrong and that you do truly do love him. Whenever I have questions such as these, I think about what my earthly father would do or how he would feel. I also think about how I would feel or react as a mother. Then I think about how much more forgiving and understanding our heavenly father is.

Rejoice in His unfailing mercy and love! (Matthew 26:28, Acts 13:38, Psalm 65:3)

Sometimes, as Christians, we need encouragement from our brothers and sisters. Afterall, we're only human. I'm glad I could lend a few words of encouragement!

Psalm 139 is very beautiful as was suggested earlier. The last verse is "See if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

If God finds in us a wicked thought or habit he does not just blow us off, but he forgives. The last part gives us HOPE. God is willing to work with us and correct us gently and lead us on in his ways.

So press on, do not despair. Ask forgiveness and allow God to work in your life.
