Hello my Lords and Ladies, I need your assistance once again. I made mention to my Mom and Sisters that I was looking to book a Massage for an hour or 2 and they (my Sisters) suggested I get a pedicure and manicure. Now..... That got me into research mode, why you may ask, well I have never had a professional manicure/pedicure and was wondering exactly what it entailed..... I think I was doing fine with the whole concept until the nail painting was made mention. So to my Question (We can leave this thread for all other Spa related questions as well Like facials...yadda yadda yadda): Can I actually get a pedicure/manicure without the nail painting portion? Is it worth the pampering/moolah to get one? What are some of your recommendations?

Manicures/pedicures do NOT require polish. Cuticles are treated, nails buffed, and hands/feet are massaged. I think it is perfectly acceptable for men to have them done. They can be expensive, but are sooooooo worth it in my opinion. I really would like another pedi soon. Doing them for myself at home just isn't the same!!!

I go to a full service spa maybe 3 times a year and I often see men there. So go ahead, and pamper yourself. The other place that I go to for pedicure and manicure, I have never seen a man there at all. Jeannie was correct. Men don't get their nails painted; just cleaned and buffed and whatever it is they do. I love getting a pedicure. Manicure? Not so much. I spend the money more on the massage and the chance to lounge around in the mineral pool while indulging on fruits and tea and reading a magazine. I always fall asleep. It's the best treat in the world.

Pedicures and manicures are GREAT! I used to do them professionaly - now only when my friends get that puppy dog look... The majority of my clients were men and pregnant women - polish is totally up to you. I think as far as what it entails depends on where you are and what type of pedicure you're getting. I used to offer different ones: - basic pedi was - foot soak, lotion, basic massage, cuticles , and nails trimmed and buffed (30 min total). -Another - foot soak, scrub & detail (meaning they walked out with beachworthy feet) and reflexology massage (45 min total). -Another - soak and oils, scrubs with special oils up to the knees, cuticles, nails, reflexology (1-1.5 hours), paraffin treatment, fruit and teas, hand massages, eye masks.... and loads of other things. You can always add options Is it worth it? Well.... if you find a good pedicurist, you'll probably REEEEALY want to go back. Massages are also well worth it!
