At least 200 people have been killed in the Nigerian town of Jos after two days of violence, officials say. quote:
Homes were destroyed during the clashes, with mosques and churches burned, as gangs of men from the Muslim Hausa community and the mainly Christian ethnic groups, armed with machetes fought. SOURCE Sad. It does seem to be both a political and religious clash, though. WormHeart

As usual it is what is NOT said that is important. The violence was started BY MUSLIMS, which it nearly always is. Islam is a religion full of violent thugs whose false god gives them an excuse to be violent and murderous. Of course BBC isn't going to mention THAT. They would rather just toss the Christians and Muslims into the pot together as religious whack-jobs. Should the Muslims really be surprised that their mosques were targeted after they started the killing? The people want them out. Islam is a thorn in the side of whatever nation it infects.

They didn't say, but I assumed it was the muslims, that started it. Not because of the "muslim" thing, but because the election was won by the christian majority. In my experience post-election riots are usually started by those loosing the election. WormHeart

From the link: Politics, oil and money... not necessarily in that order. Jos has seen repeated bouts of inter-communal violence, with more than 1,000 killed during riots in 2001. The real trigger for the violence is usually competition for resources, our correspondent says. And in Nigeria political office is perhaps the most powerful resource of all as it gives the holder access to some of country's huge oil revenues.

Gee, for all the religion and religious groups going at it - there doesn't seem to be much faith in God. God bless, Galadriel
