I recently finished my Assoc. Degree after a long time away from school. I took a film class this past summer and I am currently taking a Film & Literature class this fall.

What I wanted to know: is there anyone here currently working in the film-making area and working on Christian oriented projects? If so, please let me know what is happening in the Christian filmmaking scene.

Thanks, God Bless,

Brenden

The church here in Albany, GA just released their third film Fireproof. I believe they have a website.

I have a friend that owns a production company, Faith Works Productions, and he produces films that, if not directly Christian in nature (and they oftentimes are) are strictly structured to be family-friendly and G-rated.

Check the writer's roundtable folder - I seem to remember someone talking about doing film studies (and possibly making films) there. Not sure if it was specifically a "christian film" though.

I think there may be a few folks in the Movies folder, too.

The Christian film business is alive and taking off. If you want to rent a good Christian movie then rent Facing the Giants. It hit the big time and should be available at any major video rental place i.e. Blockbuster. Be sure to check out the extras on the DVD that tell the story of how the film was made.

I do animation so I don't have to worry about actors and actresses. Everything comes into play thought. Know your camera angles etc. If you want to get into 3D Animation check out the computer forum under trueSpace...its FREE and the training videos to go with it too!

Have you tried posting your question here?

http://www.christianfilmmakers.org/index.php

You might get more responses. Also besides asking here and doing internet research - have you thought about contacting the headquarters of a Christian Film Festival? If you let them know that you are a student who is trying to find out more about the christian film industry, they might be able to answer your questions more in-depth.

Here is a link to a few:

There are more film festivals if you type it in google. You might even find some near you. It would give you a chance to meet people in the industry - and get a little more insight about Christian film.

Also, have you tried contacting Christian schools with film departments? The first one that comes to mind for me is Regent University. I've visited there and the film professors (in the communications department) seemed pretty nice. They might be able to point you towards resources that will answer the questions that you have. If you say in your student that you are a student and you are interested in learning more about the industry.
